Its a shame he was quickly excluded from PSG, they rarely seemed to pass to him and he had to drop as deep as CDM just to get the ball and play it forward at times. Once I was practically screaming at the TV because Messi was standing on the CENTER BACK LINE just passing forward, I forget which defender moved up for Messi to stick in CB for about 4 minutes but wtf? Messi should never be standing around those areas during open play. I think Mbappe was initially threatened by Messi and tried to keep Messi quiet as much as possible but he seemed to have a change of heart when Messi was clearly more interested in the team winning than his own personal stats, they became quite the force towards the end, most of Messi's goals I think was assisted by Mbappe and most of Mbappe's assisted by Messi.
