Messi just makes us question every thing we have ever believed about football. How can someone have the best goal scoring and assisting numbers of all time, yet his best trait is his dribbling. He just defies football logic.

Messi's individual skilmates. Amazing and unparalleled. However, his impact on the larger team is even more incredible/significant due to his field awareness/vision and creative team play making ability completed with his finely refined abilities to enable his team mates. A good example is his mastery of the touch lob pass to other team matrd. In sort, not only Messi's own play is extreamly effective but, his entire team plays at a much higher level and more effectively when he is on the field.

How many of this clips aren't on the statistics? His numbers are out of this world and they still deminish the size of Messi. How many 10/10 performances I've seen from him without a single goal or assist. Is simply incredible.

I think messi is a better playmaker than even de bruyne, because messi has different ways of assisting , through balls, off the dribble to create space, set piece assists, across field lobs, reverse spinning passes and the list goes on. de bruyne is by no means one dimensional, but he's not as versatile as messi.
