I’m a Messi fan but you need to be impartial, Mbappe is on his way to be considered as good as Messi and Ronaldo after winning the World Cup, which is by far the hardest trophy to win. Mbappe just has to keep doing what he’s doing, he’s already ahead of Ronaldo and Messi in goals at age 19, he could definitely surpass them, if he wins the ucl and ballon he’ll definitely be up there with them. Hopefully Messi can win the next one, he had one more chance.

Shure, messi is great. was not that good this year. However, if you compare him to Ronaldo and Thiago silva is not quite carrying his team as much. Me había olvidado de Messi a esta edad, lo vi todo, debo haber visto más de 700 partidos de leo. En retrospectiva, hoy sabiendo que triunfo y es el mejor, además con la copa del Mundo bajo el brazo, puedo decir que es otro jugador, totalmente diferente, ya no tiene esa potencia, apilaba de a 4 o 5 jugadores y él con pelota al pie. Hoy es un jugador más técnico, nunca pasa mal, filtra asistencias todo el tiempo, y cuando decide arrancar parece que se acuerda de aquel pibe y deja a defensas de 20 años en ridículo, ahora quien recuerda a un supercrack mundial jugando 18 años en la élite, cada año, cada partido? Diego tuvo apenas 6 u 8 años de élite, Rolando y Batigol no llegaron a 10, Zidane también 10, Ronaldhino 6 años, Rivaldo 10, Cafu y Roberto Carlos 12, Ortega y Aimar 10, Romario y Bebeto 8, Crespo 10, Henry 10.... Messi lleva mas de 18, y creo que puede jugar 3 años mas al máximo nivel, es un privilegiado, es el mejor. Que gratitud haber vuelto a ver a ese pibe, era explosión pura, era adrenalina pura, era un torbellino, no paraba. Hoy es el gran capitán, un tipo cerebral, hoy es campeón del mundo.

suarez blanco My personal opinion, that is stupid logic to have when clarifying someone as great or the greatest, simply because one man ( or player ) does not win the World Cup a TEAM does, Messi clearly doesn't have a complete team around him with all the components to go all the way, the players you've just listed had or were in teams good enough to win the competition. btw I can also through up a statistics, achievements, awards etc. and clarify why Messi is the best, on an individual level Messi has statistically out performed all the players you've mentioned...P.S my comment was my personal opinion if you think there are players better than Messi then that's your opinion and I respect it.

Jaryd Larsen, I dont agree with you but thats your opinion and I also respect it. maradona had much worser team than messi in 1986 and 1990 and still he still took the team so far. Messi has a good team with him, it is not the teams fault that messi is not able to create any moment of individual brilliance. Messi has statistically out performed these players because he disappears against great teams and scores 4 goals against average sides like levante and getafe. How many CLs has messi won after xavi left in 2015 and iniesta declined ? What did messi do in the 2014 World cup final and in the semi final agaist netherlands ? It is there he is supposed to show his greatness, not against midtable la liga teams. What did messi do against Chile in the two finals of the copa america ? He was not even able to dribble past a single player and some people still call him the best dribbler of all time. I also like messi, from this generation he is easily the best player. He is definetly top 5 of all time. But common he is not the G.O.A.T. He was only good from 2008-2015 because he was playing with the greatest barcelona team of all time. You can see the barcelona team is not that strong anymore and therefore messi is not able to carry the team. He is missing xavi and iniesta. I also thought messi was the G.O.A.T untill 2014. But not after that. I was wrong.

Sophia Rodriguez Messi replaced Ronaldinho, Messi replaced Xavi, When iniesta couldn't play, messi replaced him brilliantly. And messi playing practically as a midfielder during the game still scores more goals than top strikers of europe. Also he has every season at least half amount of assists as goals. Barcelona showed that without messi they are basically helpless in some games, while Real for example play better without Ronaldo on average in relation to games where he played. I tell you what makes messi better than ronaldo: When ronaldo doesn't score, people say he didn't play as well as normaly (when he scores), but messi, even if he doesn't score he can still have a brilliant game. Messi doesn't rely on goals to shine
