What i can see he scored 67 for Barcelona that season. In competetive games. And 7 for argentine. So It’s 74. 50 in la liga, 14 in cl, 3 in copa, 7 in argentine. If you count the calender year 2012 he did 91

Messi was not always the playmaker he is rightnow... he had these playmaker qualities all along but the was the most lethal player the game has ever seen back then... no matter 4 players man marking him... 5 players... 6 or 7 or even 10 players marking him... he used to dribble them all effortlessly before putting the ball in the net with the finesse even Picasso would have envied... I remember my brother used to argue that Messi needed Iniesta and Xavi to get all his goals... and I used to counter his arguements by saying Messi didn't need Xavi and Iniesta to get his goals... they needed Messi to be relevant... thats why even at their peak... Messi used to have more assists than them... and sometimes more than their combined tally...

But Messi always had more assists AND goals than them.. Has the most dribbles, most solo goals, .. Everyone needs a good team, but Messi's the one who needs it the least.

Bro the nostalgia is real with this one. I was watching Barca and Messi from earlier but that season I remember vividly every single goal of his. It was the peak of the Messi mania. Ahh we should never lose to Chelsea that year, I remember the reactions. It was way crazier than Real Madrid losing after 3 consecutive UCLs in 2019 because RM never reached that level of football and dominance. We had the player that did the most extraordinary things ever and we were the favorites going in every single UCL season. Good times even with the missed titles it was one of the greatest seasons ever.

No, it was 91 goals in the calendar year 2012 which is different from a football season 2011/12 which starts in august 2011 and ends in may/june 2012
