And to think he was simply helping his mother, getting her food, helping her heal. This episode really showed that fathers in the cat kingdoms, are actually bad fathers. The cannibal nomad, Neo's father and then of course Lion King Sekekama in his own ways.

It's, shall we say, embellished a bit for dramatic effect, but yes, Charles Dance is perfect as the narrator. It did say under the one description that they do use some storytelling in the series. The best example I can think of is when Tsebe went with the 3 brothers and left all the cubs with Thata. The narrator said the brothers would "demand breeding rights or they would kill the cubs". Something like that. That's not how it works. When new male(s) take over a pride or a bunch of females, they do kill any younger cubs so the females will come into estrus sooner, so they can breed and have their own cubs, thus passing on their own genes. It's not used as a punishment when females won't mate with them. Also, females won't normally mate unless they're in estrus. They do take some liberties and Anthropomorphize, or assign human emotions and feelings onto animals, and that's not how it works. But I do enjoy the series, I just wish they would stick to scientific, factually based storylines as much as possible. I think they do a fair job at it, but it could be better. Anyone who's an avid watcher of nature documentaries, can usually spot the inconsistencies, and still enjoy the series. It's beautifully filmed and still serves a valuable purpose, to get people to care about these animals. People will WANT to save and conserve what they care about. I've always loved the big cats, I just wish there weren't so danged many hyenas 😛😅

I just LOVE the way these beastly, wildlife encounters are personified...or "humanized"...by the narrator--as if the animals' thoughts & feelings mirror our own thoughts & feelings as human beings! Some might call this a form of "anthropomorphism." Actually, the camerawork and orchestration of the whole video is MASTERFUL, i.e., how the different scenes and sequencies are spliced together to create a riveting and coherent narrative! This is a perfect example of "projection"...the superimposition of human traits & characteristics upon animals in the wild. It's slick and very effective, to say the least!

@vcliburn

@@billyyank5807 It's not just a simple, or even a true or realistic "story". It's a humanized dramatization of what animals instinctively do in their natural habitat...completely devoid of human thoughts, motives or emotions. And who exactly are "they" who's telling the story? Surely not the animals themselves. They're the producers and filmmakers who are creating the "story".

Charles dance great narrations just cant stop watching and the voice is so so good
The moods and behaviors of lions have very unique characteristics that are specific to them, precisely for this reason, lions are always spectacular animals for us.

Really soothing and relaxing. It makes me feel that I am connected to the world or that whoever is listening shares the same energy or feelings with me.
The narrator reminds me of The Jungle Book - Rudyard Kipling . His narration seems to be a similar method . He tells the story in a way that gives the lions a human like behavior in terms of their mind . The lions seem to plot and react as a person would .
I love stories with just the animals
Great Documentary 💯
This narrator is a gangster love how he puts the story together in a show down manner
