Ғылым және технология
I want to speak to the manager! The package manager that is... DNF, YUM, APT, ZYPPER -- there are many tools to deal with the underlying package system on Linux distributions. In this video we look at both DEB and RPM based systems, and how to handle installs and upgrades!

Shawn, I wish your 005 course was complete. It’s so much better than the garbage offered on Udemy. I am currently using your CBT nuggets 004 course to prepare for 005, trying to carefully select which videos to focus on and which to omit since the exam changed. Thanks for all that you do!

You and me both, brother. :) (And thank you! Someday *this* will be my main job, and I'll be able to put more time into it. It's such a long road though, it seems. :) )
If you use dpkg to install a deb package. You can resolve its dependencies by using apt install -f
Thanks!
Thank you Shawn!
I think GUI version of dpkg (DebianPkg) installer is capable of handling those issues and helps us install dependencies too, instead of aborting it directly. I dont know about RPM because i started using red hat based linux recently. By the way, i love you videos. They are so interesting and never felt boring.
I believe YUM is a symlink to DNF these days, so you're probably always using DNF unless you're on something older.
sooo, if we suddenly lost the internet due to society collapse, would that be where windows would shine? because the .exe usually comes with the dependencies...
In your mental image, is the cat alive when being skinned? Or not?

I tried not to think too much about it. ;)
