This album was very polarizing upon release back in 2010 because it was soooo different and experimental. I was completely blown away and mesmerized by it at the time and I think it has aged incredibly well. It’s my favorite album from them. i’m glad you liked this track, it’s like an industrial hip hop track more than anything but still brings chester’s angelic vocals. One of my favorites because of how weird and different it is

The line where he says "I am not the fortune and the fame or the same person telling you to forfeit the game" is actually a reference to their song Point of Authority on their first album Hybrid Theory. "Forfeit the game" is part of the lyrics a couple of times. I think what Mike could be saying here is that he is not the same person that wrote those words 10 years before A Thousand Suns was released. Essentially he has grown as a person.
