The more you dive into Linkin Park the more you will notice that Chesters lyrics are extremely symbolic of his mental health issues in the real world. Unfortunately, he took his own life but he wrote many iconic songs that will live forever.

Mike wrote almost all of it though. And collabed with bandmembers. Chester was the least active in writing, almost no songs. But there might be some Chester influence here and there in the lyrics of their material. Cause the writing was often based on band discussion.

Discovering Linkin Park post Chester’s death is a unique opportunity for you to hear the mental health calls in his music in hindsight. Growing up with LP was an amazing for an emo/edgey teen but now when I listen to a lot of LP I tear up knowing that Chester was suffering. He was a beautiful soul and gift to us all. I hope you dive in more.

I’m really pleased to see you have finally found Linkin Park, Please stick with them, I’m sure you will enjoy the journey. I couple of good songs to follow “In the end” are “Numb” and “Lost in the echo” also “Castle of Glass” is a hard hitting track, but that would be best saved for Veterans day or a similar date and could be paired with “Wrong side of Heaven” from Five Finger Death Punch, for an emotionally charged day.

More Linkin Park! This band was one of the first “Nu-Metal” bands that really took off and set the stage for future band to “try” to achieve. Chester (singer) was the sound that Linkin Park was known for, and a lot of young adults (30’s-early 40’s😅) were affected by the loss of this human. I haven’t been in for a while, but I had to watch this one! Gotta suggest Falling in Reverse again! Popular Monster by Falling in Reverse will be a treat to get to have an analysis done by you!

So glad you are reacting to Linkin Park! They are a wonderful fusion group, and I was hooked on their music from the first time I heard them. Their music, sound and videos got me through a rough time in my life after losing two sisters at the same time. Their musicality combining two different styles to create their unique sound was exactly what I needed during the tougher days of grieving. I was so heartbroken when Chester Bennignton committed suicide, it almost felt like losing family, their music had become such a huge part of my life. Hope you review/react to more of their music! Thanks for doing this one!

Hi Cutie I love linkin park. The lyrics are so good in all their songs. There is a clip on KZread where they are playing thos on a consert after Chester died. A slow version where Mike raps and when its Chesters part the crowd sings for him. Chester had a best friend, Chris Cornell, that took his own life. After Chris death they did a live version of their song "One more light" and you can see Chester cry on stage and hear the pain in hos voice..Chester took Chris death really hard and 3months later on Chris birthday Chester took his life. Leaving not only a greaving family but million of greaving fans all over the world. You asked why someone stays in an abusive relatiomship besides the kids and stuff like that. Well there is so much mental abuse that they convince you that you dont deserve better, that no one will ever love you. You are so down in your selfasteem that you cant leave. And offen women get very poor if we leave. I lived with my abusive ex husband for 23years. I thought I never be free from him. The thing that happened on Daily bases for 23years are unbelieveble. But now in Oktober its 2years since the divorce. Its hard becouse the scars in my soul are there. And Im so poor I struggle to get food and medicine. But Im free. Im happy. Im free 💛 Stay safe my friend

Hey Chris, I really appreciate you take up LinkinPark. Every LinkinPark fan misses Chester, the childhood friend of ours. Oh he screamed out the pain, frustration, every emotions in the lyrics and whenever one listens to him, it ripped out the heart and the weight of it all that he is no more. It's another rabbit hole for you to dig into LinkinPark and the experience is like a lone journey on a camper van. The old version Chester and Mike loved the scream and the hard sound. As the band members grow older, their take on life is more mature and you'd hear a different version of them. They don't scream out the pain like they used to but they understand it deeper and brave life like men are expected to. If you're up for this journey, Let's journey along.

If you want to know why Linkin Park is not making albums or touring any more than watch some of Mike Shinoda's interviews from 2018. If you want to know how Mike dealt with Chester's passing then listen to Mike's album Post Traumatic especially the first 3 songs. Rob the drummer isn't in the spotlight anymore. The fans haven't really seen him since the tribute concert for Chester in October 2017. Mike is getting ready to release a new song on October 6th (this Friday). Mike is a very talented person. He is an artist/graphic designer, pianist, songwriter, producer, singer/rapper, and guitar player. Linkin Park wasn't just a band. They are/were friends/brothers who are/were very close. So when Chester died they all took it really hard and have been dealing with survivor's guilt type of emotions since they couldn't save Chester from his demons.

The guy you heard on the Lose Yourself cover is not part of Linkin Park at all. He does voice impersonations, and was doing Eminem in the STYLE of Linkin Park. Mike Shinoda does the rap. Chester Bennington did the screaming and singing... scream like a demon, sing like an angel, and gone way too soon. They are both the "lead singer", like Don Henley and Glenn Fry.

My man's about to go on such a trip with LP 💔 In my opinion, Mike Shinoda is the rapping lead in a lot of the songs that give the narrative and Chester (the blond dude as you said😂), who has an almost angelic singing voice and almost a "demonic" screaming, which really just drives the emotional force into the songs. Not saying that Mike can't do that as well, he is awesome of course, but ever since Chester's passing, when we relisting/relive their songs you really see the pain he was in fighting his demons. I only regret that I never got to go to one of LP's concerts😞 you will truly enjoy their music just like you've enjoyed growing listen to Eminem❤ I really am a Stan for their music 😭😭😭 (P.S. Mike Shinoda also has his own band called Fort Minor. I hope you will eventually get around to reacting to them as well.)

There's no real way Linkin Park can carry on without getting a new singer, Chester Bennington sang/screamed most of the songs. They did just release Lost Demos which have Chester singing on some songs but many of the demos don't have words. That's the issue, there's no way to replace Chester and if they did get a new singer, many fans would be angry and upset. Compare Linkin Park with We Came As Romans. WCAR also had two singers, one of whom died in 2018. We Came As Romans announced they were going to continue as a band and they were not going to replace Kyle (their second singer). Dave (the screamer in We Came As Romans) does double duties now. Which works really well, especially since Dave took vocal training 8 years ago for songs on their 4th album. You should react to Promise You by We Came As Romans... that's their screamer! But you should at least listen to Promise Me from their previous album first, that's Kyle.

It’s actually sad that you haven’t done any other Linkin Park songs. You said they have two very talented singers and didn’t know why they didn’t continue on after Chester passed. You’re not going to understand that by anyone telling you, you have to hear them over the years. This is an early song of Linkin Park. Some of my favorites are older ones but they have so many later songs that bring so much. Sadly, most (really all of them) of their songs are a little depressing about the hurt Chester went through his entire life. That doesn’t mean they aren’t great songs and you don’t have to give a therapy session for each song. I’m new to your channel and haven’t subscribed yet because I’ve only watched three of your videos. This one, the one you mentioned about the guy who did the Linkin Park and Eminem song (no affiliation to either), and the one that brought me to your channel, Little Drummer Boy by For King and Country. We shall see where the other take me but the lack of Linkin Park hurts because it’s been over a month and you haven’t gone back to them.

Linkin park was out a few yrs before EM came into the picture. So EM actually took from Chester. He committed suicide by hanging back in 2017. Very sad after so much success. I'm 61 now and it starts flying after 30.. 😢

Not 100% accurate. Their first studio album dropped in 2000. So, it was roughly the same time that they made their mainstream debut. I believe EM was 1999.

I'm not going to brag about them, in fact I don't have to, but there's no such front man thing in theirs, no lead singer, no backing vocals, no lead guitar, just nothing like ordinary band used to have. They are people who have specific talents in one idea. That's what they are.

Bro, I've been thinking about what you said yesterday... Now you're saying that no marriage is perfect and you gotta fight for it. Well... I think I can say I'm pretty good at fighting for many different things already, lol. Spinning wheels and going nowhere? Sounds kinda familiar too... I'm really scared, but I think maybe it's time to take a deep breath and try to give myself a chance. I'm not saying I'm gonna be desperately looking for a girlfriend now, but if the opportunity comes I'll just go with the flow without overthinking about hurting her. Who knows, maybe I already met my second half throughout my life but I wasted the opportunity because of my messed up promise... or maybe tomorrow some beautiful soul will run into me in the store and we fell in love while picking up her groceries from the floor... (wait... it's not a Hollywood movie, LOL 😅) Thanks for being my coach bud! Thanks for explaining me what's this "game" all about... I promise I'll give myself a shot... and thanks for being my role model! Love ya my friend! P.S. It's the blonde guy (Chester) who sadly lost his fight. Hope he found that peace he was looking for. RiP 🕊 Ohh, almost forgot... Loved the reaction!!
