Union Pacific Omaha Subdivision- Originally part of the transcontinental railroad. Built in 1863, parts rerouted in 1920s. Runs East from Fremont Nebraska to Council Bluffs, IA in 39 Miles. Passes Fremont, Mercer, Valley, Waterloo, Elkhorn, Millard, Omaha and Council Bluffs. Double Track ABS signaled Mainline. Features two subdividsions that branch on/ off of it. UP Falls City Sub (MP 8-4) UP Lincoln Sub (MP 28.3-4) Very slow as of today. Features light traffic but big trains. Manifests, coal, grain, intermodal, tank. I live just outside of Waterloo and volunteer as a firefighter at their fire department. It’s rather convenient having the fire station right there next to the tracks since I spend a lot of my off time at the station. Easy to just walk out,check the signal you mentioned to see if something’s coming, and then either wait to see what comes by or go back to the station to get back to work. It’s by far my number 1 railfanning spot. Good video

Very informative. But yes, the wait is ridiculous most days. It has a share of good shots, but other places are a better bet for traffic. Also, I love those tiny nose shields on some of the AC44s And no way…. It is the SD60 at 8:11
