I agree, however painful this is. Israel will have to change and adapt its method of warfare. F16's and Merkava tanks are not the final answer. It's easy to flatten the whole place in a day. And kill all those who were captured plus the humanitarian crisis afterwards. I cannot understand why it was not detected or expected at all, so that a bunch of murderers can walk into Israel unscathed and murder hundreds, over more than two days. Something does not add up. At what a tragic loss of precious human life???

I reckon that both Iran and Russia are in on it. Iran just got access to the billions (thanks to Biden), and Russia is sick and tired of America backing the corrupt Ukrainians. Putin warned NATO that he would not tolerate NATO admitting more former Soviet-aligned countries--like Ukraine. For heaven's sake, Ukraine borders Russia. It would be like allowing Canada and Mexico to join with the pact of Soviet-aligned countries during the Cold War. Would we have allowed it? NO! Now, Putin is probably helping Hamas against America's only stalwart ally. (U.K. and others are just fair-weather friends.) He is irate and he is probably making some needed money providing technology and training.

The same logic you use to justify Israel's wanton killing of civilians was used by Hamas to justify its acts. There is massive asymmetry in every aspect of this "conflict." And for the record, there are uniformed soldiers, with a military, that acts at the behest of a democratically elected government on only one side of this "war." SO the entire population of Israel should also be held responsible for civilian deaths by your logic. The more apt analogy to your street fight is hamas as someone who has been shot by Israel, a mugger slashing at the mugger in a last ditch effort, then the mugger claiming he was assaulted. At the end of the day, Israel is still the mugger.
