Made a Line 6 Helix preset where one expression pedal acts all at once as a volume pedal, wah pedal, adds distortion, slows delay times, and changes speeds & intensities of different modulation fx... (didn’t have a camera on my foot, and the guitar audio has a latency thing going on in this vid, but you get the idea) 😁
*The audio at the end of the vid is of this preset being used in a solo in one of the songs on the upcoming instrumental @Bumblefoot album 🎸🎸🎸

I've always been the most impressed with Ron's ability to have such distinct voicings on his guitar in each song, while making them all pretty unmistakable as him playing. Add to this his vocals and song writing ability and you've got one hell of a creative sound layer cake! I feel lucky to follow along.
So rad to see how much creativity technology can unleash!
Ours is an oddly small world at times. Having never been initiated into the world of Ron Thal (despite living guitar since the age of 8), I discovered Bumblefoot via "Chase The Heat" hot pepper KZreadr's FaceBook page just yesterday. I'm always amazed when I discover a musician with massive talent and think "How did I NOT know about this guy?" After a quick search: here is Thal jamming with Guthrie Govan back at NAMM in like...2004? The rock under which I live is apparently both large, and heavy. So today, I'm researching the Line 6 Helix (that I've been considering buying for years now), and wouldn't you know it, Ron Thal shows up yet again. Respecting the randomly serendipitous nature of it all, I took the less than subtle hint and just clicked Subscribe and rung the Bell. I can only hope this act of compliance satisfies the cosmos and no further Bumblefootery is required of me. And yet...there is always tomorrow.

Ron, where you have you been all my life? I can't believe I only just discovered you from the Hello Kitty challenge just a couple of days ago. What an inspiring player you are, and a heluva singer, to boot. The fretless playing leaves me in awe. Thanks for being awesome and giving hope in these strange days. I salute you!

I'm a guitarist and I am completely mystified by much of the current range of effects tech. I get amps and individual effects pedals but pretty much feel lost after that. Rack gear, AxeFX, digital modelling, just clueless.
