There's always much to complain about, but I love L.A.!

it's rather eerie at moment 20:21 when he announces the date, because just days later, history would once again be made in Los Angeles, though in a completely different manner.

Good catch! The L.A. Riots began exactly one week later.

Huell was in great shape, so if he was complaining about that climb, it must have really been tough!

Such a special memory and how proud you must be. Trophies carry dust but memories last forever.

Went too l.a. city hall,fieldtrip,grammerschool,Will Rodgers, elementary school, Lynwood, California, 6th grade class,mr.charles holland,teacher, thank you for being so kind too all us kids,the field trips,were great,as was the class,from hangtown California. January 7, 2013. He was 67, but looked so much younger.

I was wondering how they bring that heavy thing up and down from a building that high, very cool, I hope the light is still up there.

This could have been the moment Huell was doomed.

the griffith park observatory was started construction 1933. Could that have been the reason for the red light replacing the beacon that year?

I saw it! It came right out of the west side of City Hall. It was probably carrying Mayor Bradley's brain.

Great to see how taxpayer money is being used. All those city employees making good money hard at work restoring the beacon, all on the public coin. These politicians never will get a clue it seems

I'd rather they spend 10 million dollars to restore a piece of history, than to give a single dollar to some moocher who has a list of excuses why they won't get a job.
