Linda Hazzard Starved 12+ Patients to Death- Tracing her Crime Spree 100 yrs ago

In a very small town in WA state called Ollala in the early 1900's, Linda Hazzard wrote several books stating that fasting was the only cure to every disease and stomach problem. Dozens and Dozens of mostly rich people took her starvation diet at her house and sanitarium she built. She did not have any medical degree but was able to still practice her medicine because of a weird WA state loophole. "You are probably wondering how was she able to practice as a “doctor” even if she didn’t have a degree, this is because she received a license from the Washington Government to become a “job specialist”, this is because there was a high need of medical staff in the 1900s, no matter if they were qualified or not." (Medium.com, Tapalaga) Linda ended up killing over a dozen people through her starvation diet but only was convicted of 1 of the murders. Although she only served 2 yrs in prison.

She was released early so she could spend time with her family 💀💀💀 different times, indeed It seems she actually did believe in her diets and methods as a cure. Her father had her on diets and unnecessary medications growing up. In her book, she wrote if a patient dies while doing her diet, it's because they had an underlying problem/were going to die anyway. Awesome that you went to the sites. What an interesting graveyard. Forgotten but maintained... Looks like a peaceful place.

Linda Hazzard?? don't you just LOVE that name?? you couldn't find a murderess with a such an "apt" surname, also, couldn't have been that terribly many women named "Linda" back then either. These kinds of sanitariums were the big thing back in that day, like the Kellogg's and their medical crackery although the world benefited from the invention of "corn flakes." As for Linda getting her pardon, one has to think that maybe somebody, somewhere, had some sort of "little black book" or some dirt that could expose certain people. Finally, I just LOVE your humor, keep it up!!

Hmmm? Curious how many times she represented her enterprise as a "spa". Spas were well-known at the turn of the century and would have been rather believable and popular, even if one was not sick. It provided a type of "rejuvenation". I write this because she was a definite appeal to wealthy people, which could have been spread by word-of-mouth in the wealthy. Just a curiosity on that.

They went willingly...but not all of them stayed willingly. When you are weak from starvation...and your psychotic "doctor" has plundered your personal possessions and intercepted any outgoing mail requesting help from your family...escape isn't that easy. I believe one of the Williamson sisters was able to get the telegram out via an employee of Linda's. Personally, I don't know why Linda wasn't prosecuted for fraud, extortion or theft. Well done, btw. It's great that you brought your sisters along for this story.

The thing is, if it was just the fasting, they most likely would have lived, but adding the enema’s is what actually killed them. Doing this for long periods of time, depletes your body of essential nutrients and completely throws your electrolytes out of wack. The strain of that alone on your heart and body will kill you. That’s why they died quickly. The “massages” didn’t help either 🙄.

I got a murder mystery for you it happened on Bainbridge island, Wa at Port Blakeley Cemetery the case is still not solved and all three of the victims families haven't gotten justice, but there were 3 friends hanging out in the now gated off part of Port Blakeley cemetery where they were killed by a Bainbridge island police officer and it was covered up for years because of the money on the island but everyone on Bainbridge island knows about it but also everyone wants to keep it a secret because they don't want to ruin Bainbridge islands rep as a good place to live even know it's very evil and very hostile. I grew up on Bainbridge island and tired of seeing alot of stuff being covered up to protect sick individuals that need to be brought to justice and face there crimes.

Ivar Hoagland also had the Hazzard treatment as a boy, and his father advocated the Hazzard treatment. Ivar really didn't talk much about his parents.

But, today I am finding videos like this one and the Chris Watts one (so far) that I didn’t get notifications on!!!!!!! A whole year ago😢Idk what happened because my bell is always on. Weird.

Hi from Seattle. Were you at any of the locations in your video for the house or sanitarium? Maybe it’s a park now? Just curious if the location is known. I looked on line at a few sites but didn’t find anything definitive. Great video! A lot of details. I live near a house Ivar owned or grew up in and I am along time customer 😀

House was torn down and sanitarium burned down so I believe a new house is in its place last time I checked. So that is why I didn't go film that.

So it was right up the road from the cemetery we went to. But her original house and sanitarium were both torn down so that's why we didn't film that.

That was very interesting - i had heard of this story before, but not as much detail as you had told. I remember! it was an episode on "the Dead Files" - people were living in, - either, her home, or there home was built on here property. ? anyway , it was a cool episode - on of the dead patients had been haunting the home etc . Check it out - i dont know what episode it was, so im of no help there. Thanks for finding all the history on this. Travel safe, hi to your sisters and Noah .

Yes! I was gonna tell y’all too that this was an episode on The Dead Files. The family that bought the property was actually using old things pulled from the Linda house to antique up their new house. During the reveal, Amy told the to dead there wants the house gone, and to burn it down. Also she found out that the teenager of owner had been doing rituals in the Linda house✌️
