LINCOLNSHIRE ...FOR LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY?!

Join Harry as he explores the flattest, most uninspiring county of Lincolnshire in the UK to find landscape photography locations. It is a test in minimalist photography that brings him one of his most dramatic landscape shots. He shoots the famous Lincolnshire Time and Tide Bell, and the abandoned tank on the shores of Mabelthorpe and the Saltfleet-Theddlethorpe Dunes Nature Reserve.

I feel the same about Lincolnshire! You pushed to the edges there and found beauty in the bleakness and good points of interest. The pictures worked out really well 👍

You've just been shooting in my back yard. Your image worked well, but take it from me there's wealth of photographic opportunities across Lincolnshire from the coast, wolds and idyllic villages and characterful market towns. Where the tank is, it's part of an air weapons range used by jet fighters, helicopters and other military aircraft. There are also some fascinating tidal creeks.

I like Lincolnshire as it's not massively populated so you get large uninterrupted rural landscapes as far as the eye can see. Now somewhere like Essex would be more of a challenge I think.

Harry, I don't think I have ever heard such a damning blanket condemnation of the scenery in Lincolnshire. You seem to have merely chosen some flat coastal areas and ignored the rest. I can assure you that there are rolling hills, steep hills, many pretty photogenic villages nestling in the Wolds - not at all flat. Just try driving up Cawkwell Hill when the road is covered with snow! OK, I heard you say that the flat bits were a challenge for you, but your choice of introductory words is nothing but off-putting and some of them are simply untrue and sound pretty prejudiced - and let's face it, most places look a bit grim in Winter!
