I have been batling with this example. I tried all techniques, I have no idea. lim(x->0) [(1/(x radical(1+x)) - (1/x)] I hope that makes sense

When we put the value 3 in begining it has answer zero And when we rationalize and later put the value zero the answer it gives 1/2. Why is the answer different???

Let us understand factoring to get it. 3 - x = -(x + 3) If you open the bracket you will get back -x + 3 or 3 - x Therefore 3 - x can be written as negative one times (x - 3) It is very important to understand. Hope that is clear. Thanks
