Man OH MAN... I promoted for limelight and tunnel from 93-96 no doubt the time of a lifetime I give Peter Gatien so much credit because he sat back and let people who really knew what they were doing do their thing from rock ‘n’ roll church on Sundays to alternative night on Tuesdays disco 2000 on Wednesdays,unbelievable DJs Friday and Saturday night truly was a classic unforgettable New York City nightclub

People knew how to have a good time!!! The good old days!!! The Tunnel also was the place to be!!!! People don't know how to party like we partied in NYC!

that is true i started clubbing alot on long islandwhichwas sick then er ventuted into the citytotally inssane children of thr nigjt unite!! n.wr damn well dick.i saw some of the most jacked monsters in there n it was all chill n welco.ing n fights no tough guys staring.u u being a douche, i met a shitload ofcool.people with the clenched jaw n big kool aod smiles like me being ballsy enougj to wear yelowlensed sunglasses at nigjt n feeling.like a cool.ass dude nkot a douche for wearing sunglases at nignt.people loved yhe funky.and different

My 20's we're spent here. RIP, Limelight. Those were the heydays of the REAL club scene; the unsanitized version.

This was hands down...the most incredible club EVA!!!!....loved the shampoo room...and dancin on the catwalk on the second level!

ohh Limelight from 91-94 was the shit if you love Techno, props to Repete, Kioki and Franky bones, the brought techno to NYC. Than Adam X(Frankie Bones brother) and heather heart did a good job afterwards by keeping it going.

i smoked pcp in limelight with richard bay the talk show host from the 90s in around 96 i was only 16

eternally jealous of anyone who got to experience this and the nyc club scene in it's prime. lucky fucks..

Huge regret not attending The Limelight. I've been to Roseland and The Reggae Lounge though.

I was 15 years old, and growing up in NJ, outside of Giants Stadium. Get dressed in BK, smallest clothes possible, head to Limelight, Palladium (where my cousin managed) and dance all night, sweaty, young, unaltered, scared in the bathroom scene, BUT all the more, free to be.

I remember in 1995 you had to have a gig of an outfit to get in. I got in wearing a school girl outfit and was proud to get in! The club was the best with the best music...I chose alcohol over dugs but was offerred E for 20.00 a pill when I was there and said no. There was nothing like this club ever since studio 54

Oh what I would do for one more E filled night at Disco 2000.....or Tunnel.....or Nasa! How I miss all those DJ's SoulSlinger, Frankie Bones, Josh Wink, Adam X, Etc... Dimitry!

I went to Limelight on New Years Eve one year around 1995. It was off the fucking hook !!!!

Coolest club i ever visited with a dear group of friends back in the 80's. So much fun and the bartenders were super fast..hehe

Saw Quiver and Hybrid DJ sets there summer of 01, I really don't remember any aquarium in the bar, but I musta totally missed it. My stories aren't dope like everyone else's here, but I will say I had a great time the 2 times I went, good vibe, great music and as others said, you cannot beat ravin in a gothic revival church @ 20th & 6th, what's more dope than that? Sad that it's a fashion market now, bring it back!

Limelight nyc just a quick walk hung out danced drank had great times. 2006 it closed with cbgbs and many other clubs. Never got to dance hardstyle there.

I wish I could have seen the Giger room...great memories of the rest of the place though:)

@Scone54 I was there. People were still thinking about being cool. But the drugs helped take the edge off & helped certain popular people think they were as hot shit as their reputations... If you didn't look right, they wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. It didn't matter if you were nice.

This was my sanctuary and tunne,l bridge,palladium, vault,Webster Hall..... U had to be there to get it it was fucking amazing.....

Yep, I was there... And you're right. It was fucking amazing. These were my favorites in order. 1. Limelight (my second home in 94, 95) 2. Webster Hall (much like Tinder before there was a Tinder) 3. The Tunnel 4. Palladium 5. The World (in 89) 6. Club USA 7. China Club (on Mondays)

It was fuckin' unbelievable. Bigs ups to Robbie M. for introducing this kid from suburbia philly to the club scene in NYC from 82-91. It was amazing and I hope....oh well.

i just visited pacha on boris heaven and hell night. god, i want cry how bad it was comparing to limelight, tunnel, sound factory, bank, carbon, even roxy.... how is nyc still considered #1 when the clubs are laughable. I had more fun in chinese disco club in Xiamen then at pacha nyc. its so fukn sad. someone please invent a time machine and warp me back!

I used to go to Limelight in 1992. I know the club was open after 1995, but pretty much by 1994-95 it was over. that became the era of the Tunnel, Twilo, then uchh.. Sound Factory... oh no! Every day I say,"That's it, I'm letting it go"... It's like one of those tortures in the Greek hell. I can't go on. This is so crappy.

Hi guys I need help finding an old club song from this era. It was the early 1990s and I heard it multiple times at Limelight. It was a techno or rave Track (i guess) but I could be wrong. I don't have a clue what the name would have been for the song but it was dark synth had heavy driving base that wasn't overwhelming no lyrics to it instrumental but part of the song had a michael myers halloween vibe to it. It was as a slightly slower tempo than the move theme but it was so bad ass! I know this is a shoot in the dark but if anyone else remembers the song I would love to hear it again. I scoured the internet but I have not found it. Old school DJs please help me out. lol

Webster Hall was pretty great in its heyday. However, it was more of a "bridge & tunnel" crowd... Which was a lot different as opposed to Limelight, or The Tunnel.

I love the part where the people running this place were being escorted by the police in cuffs on tv news for all the drugs in this place. Next week we would be back doing it all over again lol
