​@@kroganshepard6594 Actually it's before the credits. She has a fully evolved starter in ORAS during the Lilycove battle, which is mandatory in the remakes only. The Lilycove battle is only mandatory in the vanilla Hoenn games if you want to shop at the department store.

I used to think May's battle was nothing much but after some thought, I think May being easier everytime you battle her again is the entire point here. It's like a literal demonstration of how you got better and stronger moving on and now I find it relatable because I experienced this firsthand. It reminds me of the time I taught a friend how to play Minecraft from the ground up and I had to teach him almost every little thing like running and even explaining the function of almost every single blocks and weapons. There was a clear and visible skill gap and he used to be struggling but as time passed by he got better and better and then he surpassed way beyond me while I have been playing pretty much the way I always been so like yeah at one point, he was making complex structures and redstone contraptions much complex than I ever knew. I realized this from watching this video. All this must be a symbolic representation perhaps. At first as we started out, battling May was challenging as we were a beginner and May was already several steps ahead and simply explained as before, we became much better moving on and May noticed the huge change in the final battle. We got better while May's playstyle was the exact same as how she started out. Despite pretty anti climatic from a challenging perspective, this time, I felt it like I felt before. Almost like it's all about the reality than the challenge. While personally I have liked the Blue and Silver rivals much more (and still do), this one has suddenly been quite a sort of eye opener to me.

damn actually a based take I've never thought about it that way but it makes complete sense. I have a hard time saying that they purposely get easier everytime, because I don't think gamefreak anticipated May 2 being as hard as it is. But i definitely see what you mean. Pretty cool you had this realization from watching this series though if you ask me!

I’m siding with Donald on this one I’m not a huge fan of the hoenn zone. It just isn’t very memorable to me. The kanto one though, super nostalgic for me. Actually had Pokémon I wanted to add to the team

My favorite is actually the great marsh. I love swamp settings.

30:01 What a coincidence...I also taught Fire Blast to Aggron just the way Obama suggested. Of course...I ended up regretting the decision and never used the Pokémon again few years later when I booted the game back up. I must have just thought it would be cool for Aggron to have a fire attack like that.

Gen 1 Safari Zone is definitely my favorite. I like it for all the reasons Donald did. It's also got those rares that make you flip out when you find them, even though you wouldn't really use one on your team. It's a great time. Other safari zones are either meh or actively bad/useless. Hoenn safari zone is just fine. Not too good or bad.

fax gen 1 is like the epitome of a safari zone. It just kind of set a standard that was never met afterwards. maybe that's why they stopped making them and decided to reinvent the idea. with like the nature preserve and the wild areas and that sort of thing.

The script was incredible on this one. I was laughing my ass off when Trump was giving Joe a hard time about having the mind of a child and enjoying riding on the train LMAO.

My favorite safari zone moment was in middle school playing either Firered or Leafgreen on my school Chromebook. I caught both a shiny Caterpie and Weedle in the Viridian Forest. Later in the game, I caught a shiny execute in the safari zone and evolved it using a leaf stone. Three shinies in one game. Sadly I did not get the chance to finish the game and gave away my chromebook after middle school. Fun while it lasted though.

bro's got 3 shinies in a single copy of fire red before finishing the game that is crazy. I've played gen 3 for like 20 years and I've only ever seen 1 shiny in it. So memorable too. geodude at the end of rock tunnel.

Keep up the great content! But yeah I always wondered with the orbs did Maxie and Archie intentionally made the Pokémon go berserk because they knew only a counteractive force could awaken them or because they knew they couldn’t control them.

Also yeah I've learned from some research that apparently the orbs align with the colors of those lines on the respective beasts. Like kyogre has red lines pulsing on the exterior of its body, and groudon has blue ones (a little harder to tell with him). So those are what are affected by the orbs apparently? Idk still weird to me. Should just be their own orbs.

@@Dylxan327 Ayy np man, I’ll definitely look out for the next shoutout. Though the orb lore thing is pretty odd. Well thank goodness for ORAS changing/updating the lore and adding Primal Reversion/Mega Evolution. I’d hate the idea of Rayquaza having a Yellow Orb as representation.

My favorite Safari Zone is the Johto one in Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. That's an improvement, especially when there wasn't one in vanilla Gold and Silver. Also, a special dedicated to Feebas is a great idea. As for Hidden Power, try it on a Ghost Pokémon like Shuppet or even Sableye to see if it's Poison or Bug since Ghost resists both. Plus, the part with Miguel and his cat from Donald and the roasts upon entering Lilycove City are priceless.

I really like the great marsh as well. I just think it has a unique aesthetic that I like, but more importantly the pokemon there are sweet. Croagunk and skorupi are 2 of my favorite gen 4 mons.

understandable i do love both those pokemon. croagunk from the anime and from explorers of sky, and the drapion is a badass both design wise but also paul's drapion in the anime in that league battle was very memorable. such a beast. gen 4 just has peak pokemon designs.

I would love to see the feebass contest arc! My favorite safari zone is definitely the one in Hoenn. Kanto's might be the most memorable, but Hoenn's had so much more to it. You could access different areas depending on which bike you had, you could lure different kinds of Pokémon to you using the Poké blocks, and then extra areas open up after you get the national dex! I would always get a Pikachu for my team (since it's my favorite Pokémon 💀) and name them Sparky. Also, F in the chat for Miguel's Skitty 💀

fax my favorite too. But yeah it definitely feels like you usually fail to catch even the pokemon that should be easier to catch, let alone the ones you mentioned there. That being said I did a nuzlocke run of fire red where i allowed an encounter on each 4 zones, and I had probably the most insane luck run of all time. On my channel in the fire red wheellocke playlist I won't spoil it unless you want me to.

I literally caught like 15 chanseys before finding one. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

Kanto Safari Zone is definitely the most iconic. That said, HGSS Johto Safari Zone was so damn expansive. Sure it can be confusing, but the ability to customise the environments and decorations in each section, which in turn affects the species of Pokemon that can show up, is really cool.

fax kanto safari zone just is THE safari zone. I do like how gamefreak decided to add twists to each one next though with the pokeblock and additional areas in hoenn, and then the customizable locations in HGSS. and the great marsh was the great marsh. can't defend that one.

Gen 4 Hesrt gold and Soul Silver had the best safari zone hands down. Not only does your character technically have own/operate the place but you could also customize it which unlocked even more encounters

and you even end up getting some really cool encounters in there if you capitalize on all the mechanics in there. Like the bagon line and the beldum line. And even zangoose, Joe's favorite.

Pretty baller episode, it's insane to me May's starter isn't even evolved in the final fight with her in this game. My favorite Safari Zone is probably HGSS's cause you can change the environments and the customization was fun. Too bad we haven't had a Safari Zone since that game though I wish they would bring it back in all honesty.

Ay thanks rogue glad you liked it. Honestly just another reason why early pokemon games were goated. Good rivals and safari zones.

I've gotta agree with Joe that my favourite Safari Zone is the Great Marsh. I don't have any good reason except it was the first one I experienced as a kid and I never really bothered with them afterwards save to get the story items in Kanto.

oof i am just not a fan of the great marsh haha. I just despise moving around in that area.

One of my favorite parts of the series is the extra lore Obama drops. It makes me appreciate the series & games even more. Sinnoh is my favorite safari zone. The train makes up for the mud. Definitely in for the feebas special. Would be a shame if DT released the whiscash

I am a masochist my favorite safari zone is Generation 4 which is the only real Safari Zone I actually remember and unfortunately my favorite Pokemon of all time is Generation 3 but you will never capture it because it's a Tyranitar because mother effing T-Rexes

I’ve got winning numbers from the lotto but usually some store item. If I remember it helps to have multiple traded Pokémon because you’ll get more ID numbers that way.

better than I've ever gotten. I don't even believe the videos I've seen of people getting a master ball. That's like a luck equivalent of getting a shiny pokemon with an ideal nature and good IVs.

Yeah Kanto Safari Zone is amazing. It actually feels like a fun hunt for rare and powerful pokemon. I still remember when I first caught a Chansey. No other Safari Zone gives me the feeling of exploration, and as said before the pokemon in it are actually useful to the game. I do think it's cool that Hoenn's Safari Zone houses the mascot though. Even in a completely different area you can still find Pikachu. I equate the Safari Zone to an animal sanctuary so I like to imagine that Pikachu from Kanto were brought over to Hoenn as a parallel to how exotic animals are in sanctuaries. Fun question!

Ayy thanks Chris great answer to it! I thought it was a bit of a strange question at first but people seem to be engaging with it. The comment questions have to get more and more creative haha. At first it was "favorite generation of pokemon" and "favorite shiny pokemon" and stuff like that. But now it's just gonna get weirder and weirder haha no idea where I'm going next.

and for what it's worth I totally relate to the feeling of catching chansey. Except for me it was catching the chansey that has the 5% chance of holding the lucky egg! I chansey hunted for like 2 days trying to find it. very memorable I had a box full of like 15 chanseys haha.

I honestly think Gen 1 safari zone is the only good one. But I remember trying to catch all the safari zone exclusives in Red as a kid to complete my pokedex and wanting to rip my hair out lol. All that just to get a stupid certificate too...

hope you've seen today's special :) avoiding spoilers here but uh, might wanna check it out.

QOTD: Kanto Safari is perhaps the only real effective Safari Zone dungeon wise and narrative wise. I think it’s because Gen III treated Pokemon like a soft reboot wanted to bring back certain Gen I iconic features which is why things like the cycling road, Pokemon Tower, and safari zone came back in some nostalgic degree. Though it would’ve been sick if Gen V had a Safari zone since NYC have multiple Zoo’s, Aquariums, and Staten Island even have it’s own wildlife reserve.

Facts yeah to me the kanto safari zone IS the safari zone. It's kind of like how Donald said; his reasoning is mainly my take on the whole thing. But you're completely right gen 5 had a lot of potential with a safari zone. They definitely could have thrown that sort of thing in castelia city. But hey, at least we got a tree next to a sewer lol.
