She questioned the war and rightfully so because it was a complete an unnecessary disaster. But not only questioned it, she actively engaged it and protested it. If you don't know much about it, you should read up on it. It really calls into question the rationale of it. We threw high grade, state-of-the-art militarization at them and they had sticks basically in comparison and if all we wanted to do was show how bad ass we are, well.. . we failed. She stood up for peace, traveled to Vietnam, tried to learn about its citizens, which some people thought was traitorous. Which is absurd because does our government represent its citizens always? Nope. She was friendly and took pictures. There's this diabolical line of thinking that she should be branded a traitor to our country, for disagreeing and protesting the war. She was standing up for the rest of us who disagreed with the war, and it was a unmitigated failure throughout, but she's the traitor. The real traitors of this country are the ones who permitted such a thing to occur. Which could segue into Afghanistan, but one can of worms a day.
