Omg I was born that year 😱 I'm 43 years old now and when I watch interviews and sitcoms, before I was born and the year I was born, I'm blown away... because it's like a Time capsule. A infant Born that year in 1981, you can never imagine back then those infants would watch 41 years later on a small phone. These women were ground breakers...they broke barriers. The crazy thing is Miss Lillian Gish out lived the legendary women who is interviewing her the late great Mary Martin. Mary Martin was born in 1913 and Lillian Gish was born in 1893. Do the math folks, Miss Lillian Gish was 20 years old when Mary Martin was born in 1913. She out lived her. Mary Martin passed away in 1990 at age 76, and Lillian Gish passed away in 1993 at age 99. She had those lovely eyes and pretty little face even here in her eighties. She went on to live another twelve years after this interview, dying at the age of 99. May we all be so healthy and happy.

Lillian Gish is such a doll in this, so charming, present and generous of spirit. She has such life in those eyes! I could listen to her all day.

Lillian Gish was pushing 90 here, but you couldn't tell that by looking at her. And Mary Martin was a most charming hostess.

Two absolute legends. The very definition of the term.

Gish looks amazing here. Martin was a natural for TV interviewing wasn't she?

Did Mary Martin ever have her own TV show? She should have.

Wow, such a lovely little chat between two talented and sweet ladies. Love the little kiss at the end. Mary Martin should have had a talk show. Such a natural conversationalist. She just breezed through that beautifully.

Wow,...love listening to Mz.Lillian/and her early Hollywood stories,...FYI= her Godson was James MacArthur (Hawaii 5-O) thru her good friend Helen Hayes,..and...Mary Martin's son was Larry Hagman (JR-Dallas).

The interesting thing here is that Lillian Gish is TWENTY years older than Mary Martin.

Wow, they don't make stars like that anymore. I saw a movie with Gish and Bette Davis. It was very good, but I heard that Davis was very crabby toward Gish.

Apparently Bette Davis made a big deal about getting top billing before Lillian Gish, and the latter lady found this rather silly.

Lillian could not be intimidated by Bette. She was the #1 female star in the world before Bette started acting in movies.

How sad that the 80's were so phony. Nobody thought that honesty and sincerity would even be in fashion.
