I loved this conversation! It is so timely for me as Black Moon Lilith is about to conjunct my natal Black Moon Lilith at 21 degrees of Virgo. In fact I have BML, Oscillating Lilith at 22Virgo & Asteroid Lilith at 0 Virgo. Virgo is my 9th house and mid heaven. Pluto is there too at 7 degrees. It’s a busy house. I have Algol 6 degrees from my Natal Taurus sun as well. And Dark Moon Lilith 6 degrees from my ascendant point in Capricorn. So am feeling everything you both were saying. I very much resonated with your point of not being able to claim anything from an ego perspective. Algol/Lilith keeps me true and in integrity. But I feel I do have trouble receiving love and compliments etc, which I never before correlated with Lilith or Algol. So interesting. I will purchase Kelly’s book on Lilith someday soon I feel. I have a lot to learn. Thankyou again. 🥰🙏🏻

I remember that there are people today who are threatening freedom of the press for denouncing women, for example, there is a campaign against the queen of Spain and there are many black madonnas in Europe. But what can be done when a woman is accused of having an abortion (Lilith, murders children) and of marrying for power and harming all her ex-partners and sexually harassing her bodyguards (some suicide) and she is accused of the suicide of a sister? I am shocked by what is happening. I don't know if it's the black moon or the shadow of the moon. Currently Lilith is in Virgo. The Queen of Spain has the sun in Virgo

Thank you, Kelley and Ana for this important and fascinating discussion on Lilith! I think that women, especially, feel the depth of her presence and perhaps hidden meaning in ancient writings. Thank you, Ana, for allowing me to put forth some ideas on the subject...here goes... I know it is a bit complex, but these are some theories I've developed (with over 15 years of research) in writings pertinent to the evolution of the meaning and personage/“personality” of Lilith. In the cuneiform texts of Mesopotamia (Sumer, Assyria and Babylonia), long before the Jewish use of the name, Lilith, "lilitu" meant "spirit or demon". In Isaiah, it is thought to mean a night creature, night bird, or specifically, a screech owl. Other interpretations make her a night demon. In the Talmud, the name is associated with “mother of demons”, which in that text may, as you both have said, be related to ideas of Nature as a feminine spirit of storms, screaming like a banshee (like the howling wind) and other fierce and fearsome qualities of the night. It isn’t until later Jewish folklore, such as the Alphabet of Sirach (c. 700-1000 AD), where Lilith was said to be Adam's first wife, banished from the Garden of Eden for her hubris in wanting to be above her partner (yes, some interpret this as biting satire in this text, in sexual terms, but likely also a reference to the status of the feminine in relation to masculine - how dare anyone put her above him? (Which perhaps makes sense when you hear the rest of it.) I have a theory that Lilith was a reference, in later rabbinical and other Jewish writings, to a certain feminine from Christianity, who in a very complicated way, may also be connected to Islam, a religion which arose in the region in the early 600’s. These later Jewish texts (Ben Sirach, the Zohar, etc.) in my mind, were meant to convey certain truths, but in a very covert way. Speaking truth was often dangerous in these times. Rabbinical satire often used words with layers of meaning, and they would have chosen this word/name for its many meanings. Certainly, in disparaging this feminine, we can see the early meanings of the word used as satirical remarks - night creature, night hag, mother of demons, etc. In her banishment to the desert, living like a night bird in desert caves, the name might also be seen as a play on the Blessed Night of Islam, the Night (LAYLATUL) of Power (Qadr), the night that God first revealed teachings of the Quran to Muhammad (the Praiseworthy One) through Archangel Gabriel (Jibril) in a cave on Mount Hira. Where exactly were the relics of a certain feminine from early Christianity at the time? No one speaks of her relics - except, I would propose, in hidden references. Around the time of the Diaspora that followed the First Jewish War and then, moreso, the eventual failure of the Bar Kochba Revolt and the failure of the Jewish Independence from Rome, when Jerusalem and its sacred places were demolished, she had been disparaged in rabbinical satire as Mary M’gaddla (the hairdresser - one step up from prostitution), and other similarly negative accounts. Also refering to her son, Jesus ben Stada (or Jesus ben Pandera), "No, his mother was Miriam, who let her hair grow long and was called Stada. Pumbedita says about her: 'She was unfaithful to her husband'." Some Mandaean texts relate that Mary (the other Mary? - or...maybe not), was “abducted” by a man to Persia (King Cyrus?). Could this have been in his conquering of Jerusalem in 614 CE, when the "True Cross" was stolen from the Holy City by the Persians? This relic was triumphantly returned to Jerusalem by Heraclius in 630 CE. Maybe other sacred relics were also involved (or was this a secret name for these relics?) Was she also taken by the Saracens when they conquered Jerusalem several years later, around 637 CE? Why did qibla (Islamic direction of prayer) which was originally the Temple Mount, change to Mecca after 18 months? What reason, what was moved? There are interesting stories about Sophronius, bishop of Jerusalem (of Arab descent), and his interactions with the Saracen leader, Umar, to whom he gave the keys of the Holy City. Umar was said to have entered the city dressed in an old tunic (tunics are garb of the high priests) rather than the finery of pompous ones (the Byzantines?). Umar, the conqueror who was cheered by the people of Jerusalem, Jews, Arabs, and Christians alike, who greatly admired this ascetic figure (despite the accounts of having been starved into submission by Umar's armies?) In the Covenant of Umar, all three faiths of the "People of the Book" were under the protection of the Muslims - a friendly arrangement, indeed. Patriarchy diminished the feminine, generally. Judaism moreso diminished the feminine in, you might say, “competing” belief systems. Mary Magdalene had a much more powerful role in these faiths than we have understood. This is why she was demonized by those who opposed her. (Note the long red tresses of the naked Lilith in paintings by John Collier and others - do we see a resemblance to the long-haired and naked Penitent Magdalene?) Stories propose that Lilith was banished from the Garden. The Four Tannaim (Jewish Sages) ascended to the Orchard/Paradis, presumably from or within the Holy of Holies in the Jewish Temple). Did rabbinical satire propose that the Magdalene had been banished from the Holy Temple? Just a few ideas to chew on. Please investigate for yourself. So much that points to the hidden Sacred Feminine in the Abrahamic faiths. It is time for restoration of the woman at the "heart" of Christianity. ❤ I know this is a lot. Take what resonates. If you made it to the end, thank you!

The story of Lilith originated in the ancient Near East, where a wilderness spirit known as the “dark maid” appears in the Sumerian myth “The descent of Inanna” (circa 3000 BCE). Another reference appears in a tablet from the seventh century BCE found at Arslan Tash, Syria which contains the inscription: “O flyer in a dark chamber, go away at once, O Lili!” Lilith later made her way into Israelite tradition, possibly even into the Bible. Isaiah 34:14, describing an inhospitable wilderness, tells us: “There goat-demons shall greet each other, and there the lilit shall find rest.” Some believe this word “lilit” is a reference to a night owl, and others say it is indeed a reference to the demon Lilith. A magical bowl from the first century CE, written in Hebrew, reads:” Designated is this bowl for the sealing of the house of this Geyonai bar Mamai, that there flee from him the evil Lilith…” Ancient images of Lilith which show her hands bound appear to be a form of visual magic for containing her. She is a chaotic counterpart to the Shekhinah (the feminine Divine Presence, the bride of the Infinite). In fact, the Zohar imagines that while the Jews suffer in exile, the Holy One (the masculine aspect of the Divine) separates from the Shekhinah, and consorts with Lilith. Lilith’s sexual-spiritual link with the Divine will only end when the Messiah comes and the brokenness in the world is mended. Lilith and Modern Jewish Feminist Midrash Enid Dame, in her poem “Lilith,” imagines Lilith as an eternal bohemian who leaves Eden, drops in and out of men’s sexual fantasies in the Middle Ages, and now lives with a cab driver in New Jersey, where she still cries in the bathroom as she remembers Eden “and the man and the God I couldn’t live with.” On the other hand, Jacqueline Lapidus’ brief poem “Eden” imagines a lesbian encounter between Lilith and Eve. Using the Lilith legend, Lapidus invents an origin story for love between women. Scholar and author Ohad Ezrachi frequently writes about Lilith as a split-off sexual component of women, an image created by men fearful of a full relationship. He encourages men and women to see Lilith and Eve as the same person. We can go on and on about Lilith. She is an iconic figure in modern times. Thank you for this lovely share.💕✨

The unresolved or non unitive energies within our human bodies is the child killer... As a masculine soul being I physically/earthly live the masculine energy: the light above the earth, the detached, external feelings... My feminine soul being is tethered to my soul (my part of the non unified soul) through this spiritual frequency which I in the feeling/intuitive rhelm of my dimensional conscious awareness am eternally attracted to... The "journey" is to un-night, grow the buried child from the illusion of darkness/ fear, to the singular, wholeness of one flesh... The is what Mary Magdalene and Jesus have inspired for the realized human: she anointes the body, which is the death of separation/ego they become one soul in Mary's body her body, the apostle of apostles... And lo Adam is the perfect creation of man, the singular whole soul from the beginning This anthropos, asks The Creator for a companion Thus the illusion of Duelism, masculine feminine falls into being separating our soul to different worlds Under and above Lilith and the broken Adam Partical excelloration Discern I Am in love with you ej

I'm wondering if the 'black moon' is the body that crosses the sun during an eclipse, rather than it being the light moon that represents the womb. To me, the way that it crosses the sky towards the sun, during which time it is invisible and can only be seen as it comes into alignment with the sun, is a far better explanation for what we see going on here. And this is all aside from what this supposed 'space' actually is, I might add.
