I really really really keep trying to find something to pull me into this band. There is just something missing and I think you hit it on the head. Some harmonies would be welcome. And they really never stray from the Dio camp of music.

I am like you. What's missing for me is soul.The songs are mechanical--as if they are trying to make them work rather than emerging from the heart.What then happens is they overcompensate in performance with melodramatic vocals and gestures. They seem a lot more focused on "hits" than self-expression.

I'm with you. I like this band and keep following them because Melody and Sam are so clearly talented, but there's something that's not gelling for me. I have the Madness album and it's pretty decent. I'll tell you what though, try Somber Cry - it's almost a power ballad and offers harmony between Sam and Melody. Sam as a really decent voice. Where di you end up seeing them? They came to my town but ended up in a 21+ biker bar that even I wouldn't go into so I was disappointed.

I saw them in Hinckley MN for Rocktember in 2022. A 2 day music festival.

I’m a little late to the party, but I see the Fangs are out in force with knives drawn. Yippee! The mere mention of The Warning sends most of them into an apocalyptic fit. And as for comparing Liliac to The Warning, that ship sailed a long, long time ago. A case in point. Liliac released its latest video “Rise Up” 17 days ago. It has 92K views. Meanwhile, The Warning released “Hell You Call A Dream” Live at the Pepsi Center CDMX two days ago. It has 120k views. It looks like original compositions are not in Liliac’s bag. But fear not, they have a new release coming out and guess what…it’s another cover. You just can’t make this stuff up.

@@victorycast Yup. They are covering Steven Tyler’s ‘Dream On”. I’ve listened to it and to be frank, it sounds no different than anything else they have done. All it proves is that anyone can do a cover. I just don’t think they are very creative when it comes to penning original compositions so they have to fall back on producing covers. Their fans love it. But for most everyone else it’s not a big deal. And it shows.

I agree with you 100%. Now I am in TWA but I listened some to Liliac before prior to it, when I was a half hearted FANG. When it comes to their own material they where more goth when I found them, which suited them. They made some songs I like more than others but no bad ones. Melody is brutal with her voice, listen to Carousel, Mars and Dear father. But they don´t handle rock as well. And this piece is not coherent, as you said the trashing does not fit. I have seen and heard Alyssa White-Glutz do that thing without sounding like she fell through the floor of a studio recording trash, in to one where they record a rock song. It does not fit. In my opinion the key board does not do anything crucial, learn him to sing or get some influences from 80´s rock or go back more like they did in the beginning where they had goth feeling. This does not fit them. Good reaction though, as usual.

Great reaction this is the Title song from there Madness album so far one of 3 songs from album to have a video the others Somber Cry and Carousel. Somber Cry has a different lead singer who does backup vocals on many songs Sam Cristea while Melody does backup vocals and March 1 they release there newest song Rise Up..

You have to have originals if you want to really do anything. This is heading in the right direction. Looked like the guitarist was singing a little harmony, but could be higher in the mix. I liked the breakdown part, but wasn't sure about the extra vocal effect. Overall thought it was good, interested to see where they go from here.

Listen to Somber Cry Sam, the Guitarist is lead vocals with Melodia doing harmonies.

They have 3 albums out a 6 Song EP "Chain Of Thorns" and 13 song LP "Queen Of Hearts" off of that album is their Rock Ballad "Sail Away" an Original is a good one. I would say most all if their Original music has that 80's rock feel to it which i like. "Madness" is their current album. "Carousel" is a good one from that album along with a few others. You might want to start backwards to forwards with checking their music. I'm pretty sure thst show you went to they did do some of their originals as well. A few songs to that you might want to check out "Nothing", "Mystery" and "Dancing In The Dark".

Originals to check out; Nothing, Dear Father, We Are the Children, Mystery, Dancing in the Dark, Sail Away, Mars (live in Cummings, Ga) which begins with a great guitar solo by Sam, Not Afraid extended version, Carousel and they have another new one coming out in about a week titled Rise Up.

Some good elements here. Best I have heard their rhythm section. I like that they went away from that dated 80's sound in most of their originals. Talented guitarist. She has a great voice although I don't love it here. Overproduced and subpar lyrics as is typical of them.

Liliac is talented. To get to the next level, they need to play more as a band. Melody shows her range and does her screams and Sam goes off on solos. But it feels like they are showing off as individuals and doesn't quite come together as a cohesive whole.Their father is not the problem but they would expand their horizons by working with outside writers and producers

Three albums of originals to choose from, how about a ballad? Sail Away, should be the class of 80's original style you should like.

I kind of feel the same way about this band. Great vocals but altogether, they're ok. Seems like they're trying to hard to impress people and they don't have to. Mars is a pretty good one from them live. You can here a lot of Dio influence in her voice.

Let's be honest,if it was not for the singer,this group would never have been heard of.

They are damned if they do and damned if they don't , I get tired of telling the *only a cover band crowd *that they can't name me one band ,headliners or fledgling who didn't play covers at the start of their careers, Liliac just happen to be very good at it , look at their latest tribute cover of DIO/BLACK SABBATH'S HEAVEN AND HELL which has at this tiem of writing 1 million views in just over 5 weeks . They have written and recorded over 3 dozen original songs, and their quality will always be subjective, I of course being biased , think that they are all spectacular, but I'm only an expert in what I like . Liliac's live performances are from all accounts amazing something, unless they tour their concerts down here in Australia , ill have to take the word of those fortunate enough to have seen them . . I don't know if there's a harder working band out there..These kids are on tour constantly. Great live band. They'll be on tour a long time ..will they ever be really famous. They choose to stay independent. So it may be stalling them a-bit . Their choice....Sam the guitarist sings backing vocals alot.. Awesome covers for sure...🤘🎶☮️

Please tell us what major record label has offered this band a recording contract. Simon Cowell doesn’t really count. He offers just about everybody who appears on his shows a deal of some kind, and from what I hear, not very good ones. Could it be the band has carried on this “independent” thingy for so long that no major label is willing to approach them?

March 1st ( tomorrow) Liliac drops a new OMV. It IS an Original song by them. Title is "Rise UP!...they have been playing this at their recent tour....as a way to start the show. The Drummer? Abigail is a teaching Assistant for grade school kids up in Minnesota where she now lives. In her place, is a 16 yr old boy, that is VERY good, and is a friend of the family. Abigail is scheduled to return this summer, after school is done. And will be on the Summer leg of the Rise Up Tour.... So...will there be another reaction of Liliac on this channel? Or, just another Troll Fest?

Personally I think this song is fire.

I had high hopes for this band from their covers, but unlike The Warning, they did not mature musically, they rarely do what the song needs, but instead indulge in the musical pyrotechnics for their own egos. The bands that I love like Nightwish or The Warning understand that to make great music, you have to leave your ego at the door and make choices based on what the song is calling for. Unlike The Warrning who took their big influences like Muse, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, etc., learned from them, used this to develop their own sound, Lilliac is still very derivative of their influences like Black Sabbath, Dio, etc. I am still hoping that at some point they will figure this out, because their is obviously tremendous talent in that band, especially the singer, but right now for me it is being wasted.

BTW when doing this, you are just portraying the Lilliac fans as belligerent and that is not a good way to invite people in. @@reactionsaccount3955 That is my thoughts exactly. I saw them knowing I would not like their music, but my brother was a fan. They blew me away as live performers. Their music has done nothing for me since. The singer has a killer voice but chooses to always sound like DIO instead of developing her own style. And yes, corresponding with their fans on here has made me almost hate the band, and it is not the bands fault, but the fans (on here, for the most part) cannot take an honest OPINION.

Some reactors lean to the bands with the most fans .

I agree completely with your assessment. They need to somehow get to the next level. Vocal harmonies and dynamics would help. But, in my opinion, Melody needs to get (far) away from trying to be Dio on every song. What can Liliac do when she steps away from his shadow? Dio was awesome-but there can be Only One. Who is Melody Christea?-because MeloDIA will likely not go very far

Completely agree. They do Dio and Black sabbath songs with Dio very well, but that wont help you when you are trying to develop your own style. I think of The Warning when they did Mettalica covers, but when they did their own music, it sounds nothing lie Metallica and even their own Enter Sandman is new and fresh. Liliac needs to learn how to be new and fresh. It may take time, but they are talented.

@@CasinoMan1965Exactly-Even the Fangs call her MeloDIA (even in some posts here)-because she decided that that is her name…MeloDIA is a feminized version of MeloDIO. All of her stage ‘moves’ are copies of his moves. It’s holding her back from showing us who SHE is. And, hate to say it, but copying others is also holding Sam back. His solo in MARS Live in Cummins, GA has been pointed out to be a ‘take’ on a Paul Gilbert (from Mr. Big Stuff) solo. It’s very good, but he also needs to break out. He’s technically phenomenal-but I want to hear what he can do-NOT who he can cover

Don't waste your time with this mediocre band, they have very little music of their own, they don't write well, they have been stuck in the same thing for 8 or 9 years, they don't transcend, the vocalist after a song you don't want to listen to it anymore because of so much meaningless screaming, Apart from the fact that he is a bad person, he is envious and we don't even talk about their father, who exploits them even though he knows that they will never transcend where they are, they are divided brothers who each look for different things but the father forces them to be Together, in short, a terrible band.

All they do is bad covers and ask for money all the time. The singer only has one range. Which is a very bad impersonation of Dio... Let's take it a step further. They pulled the video down, but I and a lot of people saw it. This singer had the nerve to say. The warning will be opening for them. Really !!! I did hear that melody said that, which is a joke. The Warning will NEVER open for them, and i doubt after that the Warning would ever consider letting them open for them. Its sad because i would love to see these 2 bands young siblings band do some shows together. The Warning are opening for Muse, foo fighter, Def Leppard, Guns and roses in front of 50,000 plus while Liliac are playing a bar down the street at the Konx skate park in Florida with Quiet Riot, a band who has 2 good songs from 40 years ago and no original members. Enough said.... at least at this point. Never good for bands to bad mouth other bands unless you can back it up.

@@CasinoMan1965 Someone made a video reaction to it, including the original interview clip of Liliac, and then he deleted it. That's the first time I've seen that video, and many TWAs have also seen it. As I remember, the interviewer asked Melody, Sam, and, I think, Abby about touring with The Warning. Melody said "I think The Warning will open for Liliac." She was smiling when she said it, but her body language said otherwise. Melody apologized on one of their live streams after the backlash from TWA. Melody started her apology by saying, "As a Christian..." Which sounds insincere.

The drummer looks bored, this band is talented but they have no idea who they are and therefore have no direction. I think they stuck to covers far too long and the original stuff just isn’t good enough. Shame as there is a good band there.

Well, i wanted to like this , but i didn't get it either Rob. It looked like the video was shot in someone's garage and they were all on top of each other. Melody's voice doesn't need all those effects and the effects on Sam's guitar parts ruined it for me. This band is a GREAT cover band. I do like Carousel, which is a great original song, but find the rest sub par. Melody has a powerful voice, but they lack the passion in their originals that they put into their covers. I felt this song was way over produced and Melody's voice was not appealing here with all the effects put on it. It kind of reminded me of "Sick" by the Warning with the effects ( but i felt Sick was a better song than this). Maybe after they have more experience as a band , they will learn more about song writing and song structure. I cant help to compare them as America's version of The Warning, but Liliac just do not have the same heart and passion in their original performances yet. They are both "all family bands", which are extremely rare and both bands started playing young and are still young now, so Liliac have so much time left to develop their own style and grow into it.

I find it interesting you liken Liliac as America’s version of The Warning. About the only comparable I see is both bands are comprised of siblings, and maybe the length of time they’ve been performing. Other than that, its pretty easy to see the two bands are on vastly different trajectories at the moment.

@@rockrap6240 Yes, that's the only similarities i brought up is how young they started and all siblings which is a super small portion of bands out there. That's why i compared them. I know The Warning trajectory is very global right now, but feel that Liliac is talented and if they didnt come accross as a Dio cover band as much, then they could begin that trajectory. I loved Carousel and they are very talented.

Dude, I will be nice...ONCE! The only bias I have is a bias for good music. If Sam is indeed singing backup, then it is either a bad sound mix, or he has a weak voice. Backing vocals are to be on a level to support the lead singer, not a slight echo in the background.
