I mean I watched Charley Pride in concert in TN in mid 80s n Southern Appalachia....they were cheering like girls for Elvis. Yes!! The over annunciated accent and "lean" "bladder" "boobies" are words not typically in country music. The trap beat MIGHT play into it a tad but Im unsure on that bc Kane Brown & Khalid performed the Saturday Night Lights remix on the ACM awards this past Sunday.

There isn't any real making fun of country in this song. Lil Nas X is simply bringing a hip hop flavor to a country theme. I been around country all my life and country can get stale too conservative. LNX is simply playing a character, he isnt a cowboy, a character he created for this song. Damn it is just art.

I like this glad Billy stepped up to help Lil Nas X out this was great

Now it's just the number 1 on billboard period.

I love what’s been happening with music lately, artists and genres you’d never expect to mix up and do collabs/feats, coming together and making amazing new stuff. 👌🏼

Billy Ray created the country dance craze in the early 90s with Achy Breaky Heart and the traditionalists hated him. Now he's going to have a hand in helping Lil Nas do the same thing now. Absolutely love this song and hope it breaks down some walls and creates a new sub-genre.

To be honest I've never heard this song till I heard bits and pieces of it on you tube shorts a couple of months ago. So this song is very very new to me. I then looked up the song guessing what the title was "Old Town Road" then watched the video. Since then I've found it absolutely impossible to get it out of my head. I'm a rocker and don't listen soul/rap music at all. But this song is soooooo gooood, I can't help myself. Then I found out it was 3 years old I darn near shit myself. When I watch the video, the part that really trips my trigger is when he gets off the horse and does that little side by side 2 step and the teenager breaks out into a arm flailing dance. Never saw anything like that ever before in my life. Gonna play this song at least 10 times a day till I get tired of it. Think I'll play it now!!!!!!!

They made a mistake to drop this song from the Country Bill Board . Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus are going to make some more great music again together.

My opinion and this is coming from a die hard country and classic country fan my thoughts is these guys did a wonderful job at creating a today’s snap beat country song. There is no reason at all this should not be played as country. Much love to these guys I personally absolutely loved the vocals and beat. This is one clean lay out. Really this song is both. It ought to be on both types of charts because it's pretty much exactly in the middle musically. But lyrically I'd say it swings a little closer to country.
