Get You Own PaleoHikerMD Patches HERE!: www.etsy.com/shop/PaleoHikerM... Just got back from a trip to the Caney Creek Wilderness in the Ouachita National Forest, near Mena Arkansas. Weather was perfect, and I was able to carry a decent load out weight wise.

Point of clarity, NOT a duplex knock off, which is a single layer dcf minimalist tent. The Lanshan is a double layer silnylon tent with numerous features the duplex doesn’t have. It’s a mimic of the smd tarptent haven and nettent inner.

Thanks for the link to heavy cream powder! I didn't know such a thing existed! I'm hoping it will be better than carrying mini moo's.

I have this pack. Overall the build quality is excellent. There are ways to lighten in up. Trim the unnecessary straps once you know your loadout. I like the hip belt pouches but I removed the foam and plastic forms. I have a 13lb base weight and with water and food this pack carries 20+lbs no problem. As I said the hip pouches are fantastic. The small stash pocket inside the main pack is great. I utilize about 40L of this packs capacity. Now as for size. I am 6'2" tall, that's 187.96cm. I weigh 198lbs, that's 89.8kg. I do not use any kind of external thermarest pad or other pad for a "frame". The shoulder straps are tightened all the way down to make it comfortable for me and the hip belt is almost cinched all the way as well. I'm a big guy and this this is set up as if I'm on the smallest end of the sizing. So I would say it's perfect for a larger user. The shoulder straps have a thin plastic bag wrapped around the foam prior to sewing and this crinkling plastic sound is a tiny bit annoying as well as the plastic wrap allows zero breathability. This same plastic is wrapped around the hip belt padding however these are removable. This isn't awful but it took me by surprise. Why even add the plastic wrap? Why not use a perforated foam for the shoulder straps and the waist belt like an osprey pack? I live on the wet coast so I also use a Nylofume pack liner bag from litesmith. Must keep in mind that this pack was 50.00 bucks to my door and it has preformed extremely well considering I picked it up to see if I could test it to death and now it's my go to ultralight 2-5 day bag. I think once you do a little refining /trimming of straps at home and if the manufacturer could fix the shoulder and hip belt padding /plastic wrap issue this pack would be A+ and five stars.

Are you using the zsit pad as your pack frame? I just bought the 3F UL, but I have not picked up anything for a frame yet. I'm a hammock camper, so I don't really have the need for a full sized pad. Thanks!

Do you like the Lanshan??? We just got 3 of them and looking for a chance to take them out! Did you seal the tie outs? We did a test weekend with one of ours and found that they needed a touch of silicon sealer over the stitching for side tie outs!!! How about you???

My 0.02 cents. It's light and compact when deflated. You can inflate/ deflate how firm you want the pillow to be. What I don't like is it often slips out of my head and the material is really scratchy/ noisy.

So the 3F UL items ZPacks knockoffs? Aren’t they made of nylon?

another random Oliver, not a knock off of the duplex. But they do look similar visually. The Lanshan is a double layer silnylon tent with numerous features the duplex doesn’t have. It’s a mimic of the smd tarptent haven and nettent inner. All are modeled after french military tents.
