What really caps off an already good video is how you end it by telling us that no matter where we are we should always be aware of what light is doing in a scene. Thanks.

I love your graspable explanations, and your up-beat attitude, filled with excitement and enthusiasm speaking about photography (the sciences of it). Love the way how you get into the depth by demonstrating such a great presentation to show the verses between these 2 lightings. It is just what I was looking for.

Not really trying to study photography, but cinematography. I just bought a really cheap lighting from lowes, and bought a couple yards of white fabric from wal-mart to study and make my lighting a little better for my video. I have a really nice Panasonic Lumix Lx7 camera that shoots 1080p at 28Mbps with a 1/1.7" Sensor.. I know it's not the most expensive camera, but it's got a aperture ring on it etc. etc. I can adjust the brightness on the fly when shooting video etc. I got some 23watt (100watt equiv.) bulbs, and just trying to learn as much as possible about hard light & soft light, diffusing, reflecting light. Nice video, still think I need to learn a little more though, your video was really nice and you talked about some really specific things that I really enjoyed hearing about and learning. Thanx (+1 : 588)

Not a directly photography question, but I wonder. I do jigsaw puzzles somewhat regularily, in a room with three spotlights (led) in the ceiling pointing out from the same location, a 3 in 1 spot light solution. My problem is that jigsaw puzzle pieces can be glossy and you get reflections of the spotlights in the ceiling. So I was thinking of hanging a diffuser to the celing, a bit lower that the spotlights which would be behind / above the diffuser. Would that reduce or eliminate the glossy reflection of the spotlight from my glozzy jigsaw puzzle pieces?
