Lighting Setups You Should Try Pt. 4: Plain Backgrounds

This week on lighting setup ideas you should try, I wanted to tackle products on plain backgrounds. Although the idea may be simple, it's possible to get a poor result if you're not careful. So here are three lighting setups on plain backgrounds that I hope can give you inspo or helpful insight for your next project!

Dude, Hands down you are the best 3D lighting tutor i have seen on youtube. Please also consider your texturing process.

Great tutorial. I want to ask, i am new to photography, but i do love food styling. I saw from your previous tuts that continuous lighting is best for wysiwyg shots. Which wattage is best for showcasing ceramics/dinnerware?

I’ve been following you for years and as a product photographer myself I’m really intrigued by the idea of transitioning to 3D art. Can I ask how you made the jump? The lighting tutorials you give are amazing but I have no idea where to start as far as creating the initial assets (cans, labels, backdrops, condensation texture, etc.) i would be so appreciative if you could offer a high level overview of how to get started? Thank you for providing such invaluable information 🙏

This comment seemed to pass right by me! I have on my list an idea to share what the transition from photography to 3D was like for me.
