Lighting & Grip Van Walk Through
Фильм және анимация
In this video we're walking through our very own Tiny Machine (G&E Van). We talk about how we're using it on sets at the moment and what we plan on doing to it to improve our workflow. Building a G&E van isn't easy, but it's definitely rewarding. Let us know if you have any questions on how to build or start your own G&E rental business.

Next van tour please shoot on a wider lens. Would like to see the whole set up when you’re explaining.
This just came up on my feed today. Fantastic explanation and great inspiration for our currently-under-construction grip ambulance.

Thank you! Will update this video as more gets added
Nicely done! Absolutely love your setup. I have a 350 transit high roof and it is a very similar package. No built in attic so I had to make that myself. I carry hmis and LEDs on rubbermaid carts with pneumatic wheels. All of my grip crates and stinger crates on on shelves or a backstage style rolling cart. Dang, you got me wanting to make a video now. Love your setup! Gives lots of good inspiration. Keep improving it! Cheers!

Great video and you have a terrific set-up, especially once you have all the final touches completed. Have you considered adding roof racks? I worked with a gaffer in the past who put a big PVC pipe on the roof-rack, bolted down, with one end hinged and in there he put his speed rail. He also had several smaller PVC pipes to hold full sheets of diffusion. Lastly he had ladder clamps and that's where he kept his ladders so they didn't take up room inside. Of course, he had to keep in mind his truck was then taller. Do a brief video when your van if fully tricked out, I'm sure we'd all love to see the finished product.

Thank you for the comment! Still thinking thru the way to attach the speedrail but this is a very good idea!

Definitely looking forward to seeing how your mini grip truck expands and evolves. How do you like the multi folding rear lift? Using the rockin roller dolly as a makeship floppy/flag cart is ingenious! At this point if you want a real cart it would be best to just order it and wait for it to come. I don’t see inventory for dedicated grip carts getting better anytime soon. Just realized this was from a year ago. 😅 Algorithm picked this up and recommended it to me. 😁

New updates on the van since then! I will do a video soon!
Great video! Did you ever think about setting up some shelves on the van for the fixtures so that you'd take more advantage of the height? Ofc with the stairs the way they are it'd be hard but whenever I think about setting up a G&E van I can't not think about shelving. Keep it up (great content in instagram btw)!!

So.. do you just have a second truck for lights? How does that work?
@tinymachine
Жыл бұрын
Good question! Most of our jobs are different every time so The amount of lights or the type of lights we use per job, is different. We tend to put all the units down the aisle when the van is prepped and usually the lights are the first thing to come out of the van when we get to the filming location
Tell me about that ramp you have on the back.

It’s a liftgate! They’re great for rolling on carts, raising them to the Van level and rolling them into the cargo area
Where do you get the 25lbs sandbags!?
