Lightbar Highlight: Whelen Edge Duplex

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a short demonstration of my Whelen Edge Duplex lightbar.. I love the uniqueness of this bar, with the split-level lightheads. I also created a custom flash pattern that I think is cool. Technically, this bar is currently displayed backwards. The front has flashers and takedowns, but I found this side more interesting.
No lightbar shown in this video are for sale.

If I'm not mistaking it has the EB6 or SL6 power supply in it, which has the Action Pattern (slow/fast alternating) I've got to get my hands on another set of those duplex frames ....

It’d be great if you could somehow film the strobe bars in slow mo, so that we can actually see how the bar looks and what the pattern is. On the fast flash in this one, you couldn’t really get a sense for how the bar looked, so I slowed it down to 1/4 speed and you could then see the strobe run from left to right and then back, and at one point it synced almost perfectly with the music too

Adam's Lights it might work, it might not, but would be a good experiment. Shouldn’t need it for the LED or rotator bars, just the strobe ones

I use a Federal Signal SW400 that has the slide switch, but any switchbox would work.

What year is that from? I've come across many Edges, but none with two levels. Also, is the front standard or a duplex?

Great questions! The Edge Duplex came out in 1983. The front is Duplex as well.... one row is strobe Red/Blue, while the other row is Takedowns. Thanks for watching!

@@AdamsLights I think that was the time when the first version of the Edge lightbar came out, because I never saw the Duplex model until the late 90's.

Love the sounds of the strobes. Can you also do videos with the enhanced sound with rotator bars? I’d love to hear the sounds of the gears working and the relays clicking. Also you should really change the music. It’s getting kind of old. Sorry if this sounds a bit rude.

I might do one with the sound for the rotators. I have done several already with the flasher sounds. As for the music, all of these videos are part of a series.... kinda like a TV show, that has the same opening credits. All of these videos were shot and edited at the same time, and have already been uploaded and scheduled for release. Feel free to turn town your sound if the 2 minute videos are too much. My next series of videos will have different music. Thanks for watching!

That is certainly an interesting bar! I haven't really considered having any european bars in my collection- however if I happen to stumble across one, I certainly wouldn't pass it up!
