Lightbar Highlight: Star Bar

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a demonstration of my Star Warning Systems "Star Bar". It features 4 rotators and 2 flashers. I really enjoy the custom color combination that I created with this bar. I just happened to come across someone selling a purple lens, so I decided to buy it and create this blue/purple combo w/ amber flashers.
Fun Fact: The flasher is so old, that when you first turn on the bar, all 4 amber lights turn on steady. It takes about 10 minutes for it to warm up and start flashing. I think it adds character :)
No lightbar shown in this video are for sale.

Thanks, me too! Ironically, I saw the purple dome for sale before I even owned the bar itself. I knew how rare purple domes were, so I bought it. Eventually I ended up finding the Blue Star bar, and replaced one of the domes with the purple one. Thanks for watching!

@@AdamsLights I actually forgot to mention, you can still order these brand new from Star Warning Systems. I got a 9200 DynaLite minibar and I checked for domes and apparently you can still order these things brand new.

Looks cool, the purple side reminds me of the "Euro-blue" lights police use in Scandinavia.

It wasn't super popular, but Star Warning Systems was their own brand. You may be more familiar with their Impulse series bars.

Star Warning Systems is an upper-tier company based out of Avon, NY. The "Star Bar" 9300 series is one of their oldest platforms still in production and can be found in a multitude of different configurations. 9300s are mostly used by road maintenance/wide load escorts but they do have some setups with takedowns and alley lights. PowerArc bought the frames and domes for their PA series bars.

@@ryanhealy3074 Interesting to know! I've seen them as utility truck lights before, but I don't ever think I've seen them used by PD or FD- But I grew up in Georgia and live in Vegas- so I've managed to swerve around NY. Thanks for the additional info! Do you happen to know when this bar hit the market?

@@AdamsLights I do not know when they were introduced, but I've seen them around for as long as I can recall. I do have a correction to make though, the 9300 series is a 36" frame. 9400 series is 48" (like yours), and the 9500s are 58".

When would purple and blue be used. I have never seen or heard of a state that allows that combo. Interesting bar though. Last I checked Star was actually still in business.

As far as I know, PurpleBlue would never be used together- which is exactly why I wanted to make this combination! you are correct, it seems Star IS still in business, and this bar is used in the NY ear of the country quite a bit.

You probably won't. Purple bars a VERY hard to find... especially the older ones. There are a couple Edge 9000 strobe purples out there, but even those are pretty rare.

Nothing that I know of. If you look up in the earlier comments, someone mentioned that their County Medical Examiner used this color combo way back in the day, but that's the first I had ever heard of it. To my own personal knowledge, I've never known anyone to use it.... I just liked it, so I made it :)
