i do have a storygraph but its only for personal use to track what i read; i have a community built into GR for a while now but while i hate the user interface, it's still sadly my go to app haha

Not sure where in LA you are, but my favorite second hand stores for books are these: - “Half off books Records and Films” located in Fullerton. When there is a National holiday like Labor Day for instance, I believe paperbacks are $3 and hardcovers $4. -“Iliad” bookstore in Glendale, has great prices! - “The Open Book” bookstore, has 4 locations. I’ve gotten books that came out 2-3 years ago for $6-$8 dollars. -Lastly and my favorite out of all four is “Bart’s books”. The most unique as it’s an outdoor bookstore and has so many books!! In my opinion , it’s “The Strand” of California. It’s located in Ojai and it’s far, yet totally worth it.

I had a blast reading Fourth Wing but I def don't think it's a 5 star book! It gave me almost everything I want in a fantasy except for the writing which wasn't anything special and read too YA for me. I pre-ordered the second book bc it's the fantasy popcorn I need haha.

Try Sandpiper Books in Torrance! They have used and new books. It’s a go-to spot for me.

The audiobook of Taste of Iron and Gold is really well done, if reading it physically feels slow. Totally recommend going that route for it. I was in it mostly for the relationship development and that's probably the most interesting, fun bit about it. Haha.

@@elliasmy pleasure, fun fact, Jedrowški took 5 years to write SITD and 2 more years of editing before it got released in 2020! I love his story and his love for his work.

Current read: The Measure by Nikki Erlick. Really enjoying it. I gave Fourth Wing 4 stars. It was a fun read.

I loved A Taste of Gold and Iron. Mainly the relationship development of the two main characters. I didn’t care much about the political intrigue aspect and found that whole subplot to be predictable. But I wasn’t there for it so I didn’t care lol

Okay…so..objectively, Fourth Wing wasn’t that great, but subjectively, I ate that shit up! The five stars I gave it was solely based off of the fun I had while reading it. Also, the audiobook was ghetto as hell. You can literally hear the narrator cough and shit in your ear. It was definitely an interesting experience 😅

I finally read Fourth Wing, and imo its like a trashy tv show you can't help but watch 😭 I tried not to think so much during it. I dont think it has a lot of the dragon relationship like how to train your dragon, but thats just me.
