Late to the party... Do you reckon its possible to include the light kit AND the remote control set?

Thanks for posting this review! I wish I wasn't on another continent so I could come by and check it out - this is only my 2nd lego kit as an adult and looks quite daunting but maybe I'll try lighting up the UCS A-Wing first!

Is there a link to see how you have the wires in the engine so clean😭😭

Was thinking about getting this light kit. But I was reading through the instructions and they said you have to remove parts of the engine to accommodate the wiring... Kinda put me off from getting it because of that. Price aside, looks like tedious work too. Would be my first time, just not sure if I should go for it. By the way the wire is attached onto the RTV like that?

Firstly I’m a huge fan of light my bricks and this is one of my favourite sets. It is definitely patient work, I find it both enjoyable and rewarding. Because light my bricks is a modular lighting system, much like LEGO after installing a few sets you will learn the system and be able to modify and or create your own lighting design with DIY components and get good at hiding the wires without causing damage to the delicate components. If you haven’t installed a light my bricks set before, I would suggest starting with a simpler set eg LEGO Aston Martin DB5 www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/light-my-bricks-lego-aston-martin-db5-10262-light-kit This will let you get a feel for the system and familiarise you with hiding the wires. If your heart is set on the ECTO-1 which includes 42 lights, some fancy new effects boards and is incredible. Then I completely understand, I’m in love with the set I think it is easily worth the $ and time. But I suggest that you initially install the set following the instructions, it is a big lighting set and there are lots of lights to install. It took me 4hrs to install and it is definitely worth it. You can always revisit the engine bay later once you are more experienced installing the lights and hide the wires while keeping the engine intact. If you visit our Box Hill or Melbourne CBD store I would be more than happy to show you how I hid the wires. The lights are even better seen in real life. Yes, the wire attaches to the RTV like that. there isn’t any wireless component other than the Remote control. But you could easily choose not to install the light into the RTV if the tethered light isn’t to your liking.
