Where is the learn button on that ?

Hello, we use this logic 5 for our condo building, one of tenant lost his receiver with his vehicle both stolen, how could we reprogram and modify the dip code on this machine? thanks

How would I program a Homelink in my car to open this door control system? Is there a Learn button?

When I open the cover of my opener like this one there is 2 yellow lights that stay on in the middle of the board and one yellow light on the side of board that’s flashing , I was cleaning my ceiling and after that it doesn’t work

I would need more specific information about which lights are on and how many flashes your getting from which lights. I would check any wiring that may be running across the ceiling that could have been disturbed.

Yes, the radio button.

I do life safety and since the doors at this location are called "smoke doors" the fire marshal wants the doors to "drop on fire alarm". You didn't mention this in your video and I haven't found a spec sheet online. Is the 5.0 capable of this?

Yes, it is. These operators have a ton of additional capabilities, hard to cover all of them in one video and any fire door related repairs should be performed by a certified Rolling Steel Fire Door Technician.

Can a floodlight be wired in? I have two liftmaster 5.0 in my shed with no exterior lighting. Was hoping be able install floodlights that will turn on/off when opening an closing the garage door to assist in visibility

You could wire them through an auxiliary close limit switch. This would turn the lights on anytime the door(s) we’re not fully closed. It would require an additional limit switch for each unit and some wiring. You could wire in a timer to prevent the lights from going on during the day if it’s a concern.

For momentary contact to close you will need at least one monitored safety device (safety eyes) installed. If you already have a safety device connected check that it’s working properly, if so make sure your wiring type selector dial is set to “B2” - Momentary contact to open, close and stop.

Whenever I try to close my door. It stops after a little bit. Then after trying to close it again, it will go back by itself and try to close. I have to press stop to keep it from going all the way. Door still eventually closes. But is a massive inconvenience. Please help

Did you figure out the problem yet? If you haven't checked already, the system will flash fault codes on the Maintenance Alert System (MAS) indicator light. A list of fault codes is shown on the inside of the access door.

Given the lack of site/application specifics, I would keep the KPR2000 separate (wire direct to operator control board). If you are using the keypad to open the door you can terminate the relay wires (Blue & Purple) to "COM" & "Open" - If you want to open and close the door with the KPR2000 wire to "COM" & "SBC" (monitored safety device required) Also make sure you have a 12-24vdc power supply for the KPR2000, the on-board power supply in the operator is 24vac.

Wouldn't the learn button have to be used to erase any stolen remotes? What's another alternative to doing that if one or more remotes get stolen in a multi residence building?

The board would need to be cleared and all remotes reprogrammed, assuming the remotes are all digital and not analog.

Hello we are working on this type of product start capacitor always blow up on motor. We check the motor centrifugal switch but theres no centrifugal switch inside the motor. Is the start capacitor is electronically control?

What operator specifically, Model number ?

I’m in Jacksonville Florida and I have one that’s putting out a rpm sensor malfunction( 2 blinks ) . Do you have any recommendations?

have a liftmaster fire release system in lobby, it was beeping, battery was very old, I changed the battery but continued to beep. i need to check the voltage of the new battery or is there a set up process after installing new battery?

Yes, make sure the new battery is good. What model is the release device and how old is it exactly ?

Can a additional antenna be added to help pick up the Wi-Fi signal on these openers? We have 2 of these openers with a very strong signal in our newly built shop and our main internet connection is set up out here w/our router in the shop too. Often times when I am away from the shop or even in the shop it shows on the myQ app that my 2 shop doors are offline, but my third door which is our garage, is also on the same internet connection always stays online. Why am I having this problem? I would think the signal in our shop is more than plenty strong, but 9 out of 10 times it is offline.

Not to my knowledge. Generally we don’t get to involved with the internet side of things as that is better suited for the IT guys that do it every day. I would probably say you need a repeater or extender to get the Wi-Fi signal out to the other doors but that would be from the IT side not the operator manufacturer or installer. I think the Wi-Fi antenna on the door operator is built-in to the circuit board, the one you see on the outside of the machine is the radio antenna for the remote(s). Good luck.

I'm not familiar with Chamberlain part numbers as we deal with Liftmaster but I would imagine it should work given that they are one and the same, except for the part numbers.

Sorry for the delayed response. Make sure you have a Liftmaster brand monitored commercial safety sensor and connect to the logic 5 board as indicated in the instructions for the sensors. You will be using terminals "LMEP" & "Com", polarity matters so check installation instructions for your safety device.

Not sure what accessories you have or how they are wired but something is giving the operator a constant command to open, close or stop.

I have a short blowing a fuse what can it be the motor is ok

What operator is it exactly ? Assuming the unit your working on has a brake mechanism, is the solenoid ok ? Also, the operator has a built-in thermostatic breaker or manually resettable breaker, typically that will go before the breaker/fuse in the panel. Is it on a 15 or 20 amp circuit ? Did you try swapping the breaker in the panel or is it an old fuse panel ? Not supper common but we do find bad breakers from time to time. Anything else on the circuit ? Should be dedicated for the operator.

How do i add a remote to this operator using that radio button?

These units have physical limits. The open and close limit nuts are physically adjusted to set the travel parameter.

You would need to program a 3-button remote (open - close -stop) and set board to wiring type TS or wire an external timer and use wiring type B2.

I working on a similar system have 117 volts but no 24 on screws where is the transformer mod no H501L5R. E 79930 you think that would be the problem with no 24 v

@@josemendietta2404 The only "fuse" is a thermo breaker inside the motor. It "breaks" when the motor over heats and automatically resets itself when the motor cools down. Do you have 110/220v on the transformer high side ?

Not sue if its an H or a J model (should be an H on a rolling door) but if their is a mechanical failure in either model the door could certainly come down on its own, even with power off. Aside from an issue with the operator it sounds like the door has a broken spring(s) or the spring(s) is/are out of adjustment.

Check the safety eye wiring for a loose or dirty connection (wire nut connections without dielectric grease are bound to fail in my experience) we use 3M water tight connectors for solid wire connections or fill a wire nut with dielectric grease for stranded wire connections. Test eyes for proper operation, block sensors and make sure the green LED’s flash (assuming you have the CPS-U sensors). If the connections are good and eyes appear to be working, hold the close button until the door is fully closed then Open and try closing with a momentary press of the close button. If the problem persists replace photo eyes. We’ve seen commercial eyes behave as if they are working fine but are bad. We have also seen eyes that don’t blink when interrupted so at first glance they would appear to be good as the green LED indicators are on steady. I suppose it’s possible that the logic board could be bad but the new eyes would be a cheaper and more practical starting point.
