The Italian Job with Mark Wahlberg is a much better film and is way more fun.

You will if you actually watch some of his movies including this one if you want but to be fair it’s plot is quite similar to other movies which is its main flaw

I know people want to say that people are hating on Kevin Hart, but this has nothing to do with that. I am a very unbiased person. I can look at a situation for what it is and honestly I just do not understand the chances given to Kevin Hart with Netflix in his past few projects all of them have rated five or below out of 10. It’s your money Netflix? I’m just saying I don’t get it. Somethings off when it comes to trying to bring him in as a pull but OK 🙄 and this movie Lift is a perfect example of that it …..just does not work with him in it!

This movie must have been written and largely filmed before 2021. It did not age well already. Literally two of the major plot elements in the movie are basically non-existent in the world today. I'm surprised they didn't try to refactor these elements out or down. As action goes it's meh. Clearly the Fast and Furious elements are there with the down right silly and unbelievable plane stunts. The romantic element feels like it was crow barred. The part where I laughed the most was they trashed a plane that was worth more than the actual heist. And I'm not talking about the "stealth" plane. However they trash both planes in the end. And somehow they just walk away from the final cop scene? The cops also show up in what must be cop cars that can exceed the speed of sound they got there so fast. Kevin just comes across as smug all the time. He needs to work on his I'm cool as a cucumber oceans 11 look. The editing room did a rather poor job of stitching things together. All the elements in almost every scene felt like they were film scraps and pasted together. ( Which I full understand is actually what editing is. ) Was it the worst thing I've seen lately? No. Is it a re-watch? No. A recommend? Mostly No.

Do you think Netflix intensionally made these "bad" ? Per say something which can be watched while washing dish and most people would probably drop before the ending Not only their plots, even their reviews are pretty much the same

My wife and I didn’t finish it, we couldn’t get into it, my wife is a Kevin fan and she started lose focus before me. And I think that they just used his name to bring audiences into the movie

this movie was terrible lol the most generic formulaic cookie cutter crap. This same movie has been made 30 times

Can we all just agree that this was a bad movie? Great cast playing minor roles, acted well, just the plot was garbage. You knew they would steal the gold for themselves, it was tacked on at the end like they almost forgot to write it in. There was no reason to kill the woman from Leviathan, you're just making an enemy worse than you for no gain and without it happening he walks. Was the gold worth the two jets they ruined? What about the people they stranded in the snowy mountain tundra? How were they going to hijack the plane without guns to get the gold? Wouldn't this dangerous criminal know it was you who robbed him even if your plan went perfectly? Why switch the planes at all if they could just switch the palettes inside the plane and have most of them never leave their seats? Have they ever seen a stealth plane before? How far do their in-ear comms work? Would one broken wrist keep you from pulling back a throttle on a diving plane? Use your other hand. Four balloons aren't going to raise ten tons of metal. Why didn't they wear masks in the first heist and avoid all of this? It was just a badly written movie.

While I agree with most of your review, I am always happy to see Kevin Hart take on other roles than the usual comedic one.. However, it was only mildly entertaining. Seems heist movies are a safe genre for production companies. Easy script, easy money.

A.i written trash, if this entertained you you'd obviously enjoy a paint drying, the double cross in the end means the whole movie never needed to happen cause they already swapped the gold they only need the safe cracker and Asian chick to pull off whole heist and it was pointless to switch airports or add second plane cause they already stole the gold, Kevin Hart is truly garbage as a comedian or actor and this movie is just another example of his failed career, so glad they lost tons of money for this truly is a movie to make you stupider

15 minutes is all I could take. When they started on the NFT stuff I bailed. That's RARE for me. But this had all the trappings of a Hollywood drivel driven mess. It was so ridiculous and felt so forced I couldn't take it.

I have already watched LIFT, and I would have to agree with the comments made in this video. It was an entertaining movie, but nothing special. A few changes to the movie would have made it alot better, but as it sits, it is just average.

Don't forget that a movie is about the story line, which everyone enjoyed. Don't focus on the small imperfections, makes you see like a hater

Script was cartoon-level naive. Sad to see Jean Reno in a movie like this, I guess the man's gotta eat... And Kevn Hart went so "I am not playing the comedian on this one" that he was way too serious for a light movie like this.

Movie was so bad and I knew it be bad and I still watched it and when it ended I was like yep that’s a Netflix movie for you. This is from the same director that did The Italian Job remake and that’s a much better film.

Am I the only one that noticed that the fact that they actually had swapped the gold negates the entire half of the movie or the need for the rest of the crew other than the blonde guy in Asian girl or that they didn't need the plane after all because all they really needed to do is switch the gold and then let them land the plane at the original airport, this was written by AI because humankind could not make that big of a mistake, right seriously guys they under cut there entire movie by the blonde guy not actually needing anyone's help, he could have jumped with parachute following the plane and the movie ended there, bad guy gets fake gold, hackers steal his money win win woulda been better then adding 50 more steps to a horrible heist movie, Kevin Hart your careers dead after signing with Netflix.

Yep I agree. It wasn’t the worst movie but fairly forgettable. I watched it with my wife and enjoyed it for what it was. Some of it was kind of ridiculous though.

Later in the year theres another Neflix plane thriller coming out called "Carry On" from director Jaume Collet-Serra I have a feeling that'll be MUCH better

God I thought this movie was terrible. Love Kevin Hart. But from the acting to the story line to the character building. It was all bad and unbelievable. A star studded cast and the movie some how made them all forgettable.

Kevin hart should just make movies like the upside Or series similar to true story Series roles with no real comedic aspect to it and then maybe people will take him seriously Because I don’t have him up there as the best comedic actor His just meh or rather his just there doing his thing and big up to that But like Netflix just wasted money on this film because did we need it no!! rather invest in foreign actors Korean German and so forth because then the films are way better but don’t get recognised Example society of the snow etc…. Great!

Watched this last night. It was HORRIBLE. It's like so many other movies but with worse acting and more unrealistic story. Think I'm done watching Kevin Hart movies, especially action movies, usually a let down.

Ticks the usual box. Apart from that it’s a big steaming 💩

I like Kevin in that movie with Walter white .. tyis movie sucked 😅

This was such a fun movie. Kevin and the entire cast were so enjoyable to watch! I look forward to the sequel.👏👏👏

This movie was so boring

Like all films by and with Kevin Hart: Horrible! (Although the basic idea isn't bad, but what motivated actors like Jean Reno to act here may just have been about the money). The "actors" are simply wooden, the "tricks" are bad and the ending is like a dime novel. It's a shame about your life.

What a crap movie - almost unwatchable. Even as white noise in the background I couldn’t keep it on. Hart as a lowkey subdued actor just does not work at least in this context. He was fine in the other neflux movie about the dad and daughter. But this action star is no bueno. He is great but this movie was straight shite.

This movie felt like it was written by a 10 year old. Dumb script, dumb plot, very lame movie. Not funny enough, not cool enough, characters are lame. The relationship with Kevin and his girlfriend brought nothing to the movie

I love F. Gary Grey, but this just felt real cheap and lazily put together. Typical plug and play characters thrust into a formulaic unoriginal story. I fell asleep the first 25 min.
