Lyrics:
no not the end that I fear, its the not sure I am here
babel library I swear, my name isn’t there
I’ll airstrike my food if its cold, new things already tasting old
dropping nukes to clean room my room, see what I am doing?
yeah side by side, your disguise is the real look in my eyes
and my dreams are your trips, holy shit
be here, be lost
go through, a lot
pass on, forgot
yeah life, so hot
just level ground is a climb, freaking out and feeling fine
feeling bliss, feeling dread, reminds me I’m not dead
Your flooding flash is my bath, fucking wet as neptune’s ass
Black holes are used to clean my room, don’t like using brooms
the truest truths will live on, Ill still be here when Im gone
In our dreams, in our trips, holy shit
be here, be lost
go through, a lot
pass on, forgot
yeah life, so hot

The "orchestral" part takes resources, but in general there are insane numbers of musicians putting out music in hundreds or thousands of genres, Shirley more than at any other time in human history. Someone recommended "Year of the Newt" by the musician Bobbing to me because I like Max Tundra, and trying to find out more about him I came across the "indietronica" sub-genre on RateYourMusic that lists 12,000 releases by hundreds of artists I'd never heard of. There are more kinds of metal than there are brands of guitar amp. Sturgeon's Law "90% of everything is crap" applies, but that leaves hundreds of thousands of tracks every year that are pretty good.

I don't want to pretend I have something "new and relevant" nor do I want to wallow in the old "groovy, hip" sensibilities" of the past. AAAAAAAAH!!!! YOOO!!!!!!! WOW!! WHAAT?!?!?! HOW?!?!? The SOLO!! AND THE AFTERMATH!!! That was absolute LUNACY!!! Great job.
This resonates with my nervous system in Waze that various little music does, and it’s incredibly valuable to me for that reason. Rhythmic it does something to my neurotransmitters, my mental math that seems to create some alignment that doesn’t exist when I’m not listening to this music. Harmonically, it soothes me, but in a tremendously expensive way. Like I’m flying over the planet experiencing humanity Like life is some big neural network and we’re all connected to everything. And besides that, it just amuses me. There is a joyful sarcasm. A playful irreverence, and yeah, it just makes me feel good in a way that not much else does and I’m a pretty happy person for the most part. But this, this is extraordinarily special. Like really effing special.

@@sirzebra so a random little bitter man (thanks 🤣) is not entitled to an opinion and this is because a 64 year old jazz fan has decided that? Hahahaha. Let’s face it. We are both just as unimportant to the world. This kind of discussion stops the moment one of us is attempting make it personal. There is no need for that. An opinion is an opinion. No one owns the facts. And opinions are not getting more true if they go paired with dirt throwing. I listen to all sorts of music as long as I feel there is an attempt made to connect to the audience. Especially on a live situation. Here they are clearly struggling with that. It of course is technically complicated and the players have amazing technical skills, but that is not enough. What is missing is essential. Something the metropole orchestra managed to do with almost all artists they performed with. Steve Vai, Erykah Badu, Herbie Hancock, Junkie XL, and many others I witnessed. But this collaboration is missing that spark. The arrangement is already full. Adding the orchestra adds very little. Maybe I should word it differently. The players are so busy with themselves and the technical performance of this very tight music that adding the orchestra is taking away from it. And not because they can’t add to it, but there isn’t enough space in the music to add this orchestra. A mismatch. That is what it feels like. Can’t help it. But now I have to dash. To go sit in a corner. Alone, feeling bitter and random 🤣🤣🤣

@@markgeelen5207 you're entitled to you opinion, and maybe even just entitled, eheh but it's ok, i called myself random too, but you took it personal, probably read too much like an insult where it was just a jest. i'm fine with your taste, arguments, (or lack thereof, if they didnt even exist) i cant prove it to you if you can't possibly conceive it, but it's a fact. i dont need you to like or respect anything i like or respect, nor do i think it should be any other way. All i suggested is that your (valid) opinion should make you move on to bigger and better things (to you) The rest of your take is just based on what it felt to you watching this video : cole and his crew are a lot more fun and interactive live that you could ever imagine, but i can gather from that need to "defend" yourself from a simple comment that you'd be pretty much insensible to it, and that's fine, really. Tbf : i think this concert / this video does seem and sound more "static" that the show i saw last year, so you're probably thinking everything all of it has to be how you saw it once here, we're also sadly "entitled" to our biases as unimportant humans. Consider the perspective of someone that saw it live in a (very) good setting : it's really not, but you'll have to take my word on that. It's not so serious, it's virtuosic but still very fun, it got me feeling the same wonderfull impression i got watching Hiromi shred her piano with a huge smile on her face with a chamber orchestra : you could argue, even for her, that the arrangement didnt need the extra notes, but it adds fun, variety, and power. That's my opinion, it doesnt mean you can't keep spending hours trolling around these boards if you must, i wont "deny" you the right to waste your time. Again : my whole message point was this : go and enjoy something that's inspiring to you, instead of bathing in negativity, so i'll say it again : go and enjoy something that's inspiring to you, instead of bathing in negativity. I beleive my point was made, thrice, if you feel insulted by me wishing you a better moment : it's ok to me ! Dont (try) to bring me down either, by acting victimized by my remarks, i was polite and wished for you to find pleasure and happiness the first time, it didnt change now, and it wont then, why you're reacting like you are is for you to sort out, or maybe caused by my broken english (fourth language, i'm trying) , or maybe because you're actually bitter, at least on the subject of this music here, and that's on you bb, i can see it and point it out if i want, otherwise you shouldnt spam public comments for all to see, if you dont want anyone reacting to them, and how they portray your mood. I wont spend a day "arguing" over thin air, i'm fine with wishing you a good day, meaning it, and moving on.
