Tyler, thank you for this video. It has brought back such wonderful memories of all the fun we had playing the games together. I still love to play all the old games and have my own special room set up to play them in. The old games are the best and I still enjoy them. In fact I was just thinking of playing "The 7th Saga" for the 7th time. LOL Love you, Aunt Michele.

My dad was mildly interested in video games. We had an Atari 2600 when I was born, and got an Amiga computer when I was very very young. I bought the NES.. parents made me save up for it. I got systems as Christmas presents sometimes, but I think basically once the NES came home, gaming moved from my dad to me. He wasn't very into it aside from helping me out here and there on Amiga adventure games (like Sierra adventures... King's Quest and stuff like that). My sister didn't really care about games, though she did have a Game Gear at one point, and she got a Wii, which I skipped. No brothers. I'm sure my house would have been way more game crazy if I had a brother. Cousins were into games, but we lived all over the country, not nearby. The Game Boy did get everyone's attention though. It stayed on our coffee table, and we eventually got another one for link games and just because we always had four people wanting to play... we'd sit on the couch, watch tv, and usually one or two Game Boys were in action at any given time. My parents would play my sister's Wii too... but only on holidays normally. "real" gaming though... that was all me.

19 and im glad to be born now than before. Anyway while saying that (when there wifi at the house) my phone is a secondary device. I use my computer and I tend to play games research etc. When I'm outside. I rarely touch my phone. I dont even like to take picture or videos. Im all about living in the moment. I dont judge those that do but I dont like stopping every 5 feat to take a pic. Or watching videos. Only time I use my phone outside is when I'm in a call. Or im playing music while driving or finally if im taking a long road trip I put on headphone.

It's so much fun watching these videos. Bringing me back to my own retro childhood times 🤗 Only.. the GBA did not have those memories because from the GBA time did not play that much of handhelds anymore.
Love your vids, I wish there was a 90s youtube with just home videos like this. But yeah I was underwhelmed by the GBA because no back light. I rarely touched it. DS/PSP were the height of handheld gaming for me. Loved that shit.
Hey bro i’ve watched several of your videos of when you were young with your family, and they’re all very touching. Your father was a really great guy, and I understand that it’s been some time for you, but I just wanted to tell you that, I’m sorry for your loss. Sorry to bring it up, as like I said, I realize it’s been some time for you, but I just felt like I needed to say something. Keep up the great videos, and have a blessed day. 😇😇😇😇

This will forever be my favorite system. It had just enough power to let devs get really ambitious with the games and cover just about every genre. And the sheer variety and quality in the library meant that every game purchase for me was a big occasion. It kept me up till sunrise for many nights during summer break. I still take my GBA SP with me on vacations, when the Switch proves a little too bulky.
Mind blowing the amount of gaming related childhood A/B-roll filmed by your Dad.
Man, just discovered this channel and it really hits hard with nostalgia. Even brought a tear of joy to my eye to be able to retroactively experience getting my first GBA all over again. Great stuff, keep it up!

Hey man, came across this video and I want to say that I am very happy for you. You have some great people in your life, a great family, and many great memories with them. A true blessing. It was very nice watching this video and seeing an example of a healthy family compared to a lot of what is happening today. I miss the 90s/2000s
Your dad was the coolest. I had NES and SNES growing up and while we have plenty of home videos of me opening gaming stuff my parents were never into gaming sadly. I dearly love my family and they're incredible. I had the most loving parents a kid could ask for but I wish I could have shared that with them.
Tyler I have been a follower of yours for a few months and I just want to say you (and your dad) are a huge inspiration to me. I have two boys and my youngest (4) is just now getting into games. I just started adding to my channel, but I hope to create videos over the next few years that capture the joys of childhood and gaming...and other toys...the way your dad was able to. Keep the videos coming my friend!
I'm just discovering this channel and I wanted to say this is absolutely incredible and brings me so many happy memories of my own. The GBA is one of my all time favorite consoles I absolutely adored it. Very nice work on all these videos. It's so cool you saved all this old footage and your family seems like awesome people. I'm gonna be binging more of this.
These videos always bring me a lot of joy. Thank you for all that you do Tyler!
A family of gamers?! Such a rarity! Dude, this is too cool! :)
Why do you always do this me! I always end up in tears after watching your videos. I’ve lost my aunt last year, and she looked and talked like yours.
Just found this channel and it's amazing to see your video footage from way back. I'm a 41 yr old gamer so this channel brings back so many memories. thanks
Hey Man! I been following u for awhile and watching all ur retro Videos like this one , Xbox and GameCube Days. It’s amazing how well ur life was documented and can relieve the memories when times were simpler. It’s also cool that u a got a great family and can relate when it comes to gaming. I hope to see more videos during that era because I feel so nostalgic and would love to see more.
Dude seriously thanks for these videos, I just saw another one and yeah this is awesome. I'm a couple years older than you('84) and all your vids just take me back, awesome
Awesome episode Tyler! I remember receiving the GBA back in 2002 as a birthday gift and hearing you guys talk about the no back-lit screen brought back so many painful memories of trying to get the right lighting in the living room, or trying to adjust the worm light to where it wasn't blocking my view of the screen. Overall, I loved the system (especially when the SP was released with a back lit screen) and being able to play SNES graphic style games on the go was amazing! Taking Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and many more games on the go now was amazing! And when Golden Sun was brought into my life I was set. That game series was so underrated.
And BTW, your Aunt is so cool. She loves her games. What a great family that loved each other and love to play games together. GREAT video, thanks !
what a beautiful family you got. cheers man! enjoy life and bless you and your family. always.

Awesome video as always Tyler. Back in the day my I would spend the weekend with my aunt and uncle who had a NES. My aunt and I played SMB 3 for hours. She played SMB3 so much she actually wrote down all the flip card game solutions. Man those were the days. I had such a great time with them.
Must be nice to have a family that is supportive about videogames. My family was mostly abrasive.
Hey Tyler! Been watching these vids of yours for awhile now and it absolutely brings me down nostalgia lane, I was scrolling through KZread and came across your Dreamcast video you did with shenmue and it just hit different and I loved it so much so I actually went and bought a Dreamcast right after watching it! I was born in 01 so seeing what gaming was like in the late 80’s early 90’s and 2000’s is just so cool to see! Keeping pumping out these vids I love ‘em!!
This made me realize that family is so important. Especially during covid.
One of the most underrated KZread channel on KZread. Amazing family man
Seeing this makes me feel the love of your family. My family bought me games growing up, but they did not like them. Love your content!
This brought back some wonderful memories. My aunt and uncle were the ones that me into gaming. My aunt mostly played on the Genesis. It’s a reason why I love Castlevania because of Bloodlines. I loved the GBA. I’m playing as we speak. I dunno if it’s the Reddit posts I’ve seen for GBA mods, but I got a whole new love for it.
Such a wonderful video. I couldn't leave without saying so. Thank you
I love this channel, brings back so many memories
Such an awesome episode Tyler. Brings back so many memories for me too. Gaming with my cousins on NES and Amiga 500 when I’d spend summer holidays with them at their house. We’d spend all day at the beach together (they were 10 minutes away) and then outdoor play in the backyard. When it got too dark to play outside we’d go inside and play video games together all night. Also can’t believe GBA is now 20!!!! I got the light and magnifier attachment day one. Felt a bit guilty to box it up when I upgraded to the DS Lite that could play the GBA titles with bright backlot screen. I still fire up the old GBA on occasion to play some GBC & GB titles. Loved how it added colour palettes to some games.
Man I bet if those ips backlit screen mods were around back in the day you, the boys and, your aunt would be thrilled! Videos like these make me so nostalgic man even though I was only a baby when the GBA came out. My mom, brother and I really loved playing the N64 back in the early 2000’s before I even started going to school so this vid really resonated with me. Even though I’m only 20 going on 21 in a couple months I can’t help but feel that life is going by too fast. At least my brother and I still enjoy gaming with each other whether it would be retro or modern games. Great video man!
Keep up the good work! These videos are incredible. You have an awesome family.

the game boy advance was the first video game console i ever had. first my brother got on his birthday in November 2002, then i got my own with the SP in november 2004. its thanks to the GBA i became a huge pokemon fan, playing fire red and emerald back to back everyday. now fastword to 2021, we still have our GBAs and once in a while i play my SP for nostalgic purposes. it will always be my favorite video game console, becuase of its large library games (over 1000 games) and how it introduced me to old classic games like mario world, and donkey kong. great video man!
