Hi Jael, I love watching your videos all the way from Australia. For your driveway plants ensure that there's small holes at the bottom of the walls that will allow excessive water to escape particularly during heavy rain season. The soil is clay so water may cause rotting of roots. To retain water during dry season perhaps line the inner wall with mulch or plastic paper so that the concrete does not absorb all the water. Can't wait to see the beautiful plants coming up. Blessings to you😊

Your viewers appreciate your honesty. There are those who come across channels and make asinine remarks...aka trolls. I have come in contact with many people all over the world who have/are/planning on doing what you are doing. Many people leave the city in search for a more solitude life. Everyone has their good and bad days. The one thing I have notice is that there are those who live similar lives and in proximity of those who are already there is that those who lived in those types of areas long before new people arrived is that there is that assumption that the 'new kid on the block' is suppose to help those who been living there the longest. The problem with that is the new people eventually burn out...aka hitting a brick wall and nothing gets done and people move to another location. As a child, I remember my grandmother saying 'the only way to help others is to make sure your home is together first' (or words to that effect). As a child I did not fully understand what she meant. The older I got, I realized what she meant. Jael, you are a single parent. Your responsibility is your daughter. People can say anything they want. You decided you wanted to return to the village...where you grew up. This is the life you chose. No one said it would be easy. You wanted peace of mind. Sometimes you need to let go of being nice all the time. Saying 'no' is the most difficult word people can utter of of their mouth, yet it is powerful. "Your" home will be beautiful and you will be proud of the work you did. People say nasty things because they have not achieved what you have. As for your driveway...how about a mixture of flowers and herbs? I like the idea of smaller plots of gardens. Raised beds would be better. Now is a good time to have a cup of tea and watch the cows. 😊

Keep your garden natural, blending with nature. Painting is an unnecessary additional cost that you will have to maintain; think rain and humidity, peeling, etc. Do you know that snakes like hosta flowers to hide and hibernate in their foliage? The scent of rose bushes will waft through your compound when the wind blows and their vibrant colors appeals to the eye. Thank God for their thorns animals will venture to nibble at them. What are your favourite flowers? Do you like pereneal flowers?
