1762 ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਵਲੀ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦਾ ਬੜਾ ਘਾਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਆਲੇ ਜੱਟ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸ਼ਨ (ਬੱਕਰੇ ਆਦਿ) ਮੁਹਈਆ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਫੇਰ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਹਿਮਾਕਤ ਇਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਕੀਲ ਨਾੰਨੂ ਸ਼ਿੰਘ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਬਦਾਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਲਾਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਗ਼ੁੱਸਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਕੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਦੇ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ। ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਦੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ਖਹਿੜਾ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ।

Because Maharaja wanted to conquer the area cross Satluj. So Maharaja of patiala and all other kings of small States went to British government and asked for him and promised to accept all the conditions of British government. Conditions are to keep the British trainers Who can train the army and accepted all the conditions of British. The British government wanted to win Punjab but because of maharaja Ranjit Singh they don't dare to face him. So now some area of Punjab was given to Britishers in silver plate.
