LIFE's LESSONS

Фильм және анимация

One of the most important aspects of being human is the fact that we have feelings - all day long. From childhood we are taught to stop being sad or to hold in our anger. But these emotions always find a way to leak out, sometimes in the form of self-criticism or depression. We need to learn to acknowledge our emotions, and to be compassionate and kind to ourselves when these feelings arise. And you will learn an important lesson in life: how to reveal and heal what you feel.
Given the anxiety that most of us are feeling given the state of the world, now more than ever, we need to find ways to share and express how we feel. So, how are you, really?
All of our films are made possible through the generous support of our patrons.

To the lady in the video cutting her flowers with her dog running around, thank you! I lost my husband in 8 weeks to the most horrendous pancreatic cancer ♋️ that spread like wild fire...........it’s just been 1 year without my beautiful man, a true gentleman. Been together forever ❤️ we adored each other. Now I’m like you, learning to live, alone. Sometimes I can’t breath & other times I feel a great achievement when my independence kicks in. Just wanted to say thank you 💜

@Cece - We are very sorry to hear of the passing of your husband. And like Elrieda says, not every day is easy, for her there are still difficult days. But step forward, one day at a time, and allow the heart to heal. Hold the memories close to your heart. With much love to you xxx 💚

So sorry for your heartbreaking loss Ma'm - my heart goes out to you. From personal experience, grieving is a unique journey that takes its own shape and form for each one of us. I've slowly come to the realization of accepting all that goes with grief and loss - the ups and downs, and instead of resisting, judging or critising how I feel, the acceptance of what I feel has been very helpful. May you find inner peace Ma'm 🌺💞🌺

When I was just learning English, I remember my teacher taught us this; when people ask you “How are you? “ you just answer “I’m fine.” and don’t tell them how you really feel, nobody wants to know how you really are. This is largely true but over the decades, I learned those of whom that really care about you, will take the time to observe your face and emotion, and take the time to listen. I think it’s all about kindness to one another; even with a total stranger.

How do you know that that person isn't truly wanting to know how you feel? Do not assume that people are unfeeling...the fact that they ask you how you are is a gesture of kindness and maybe they might know just how it feels to be down....give our world a chance...reach out. You may get many a brush off but maybe you may be the saving grace of a person in great need...love you...keep your faith...relax and enjoy what life you have

The First thing my soul gives me back is Comfort. I learned to to rely on others. And not to blaue them anymore because they realy often don't want to listen when you are not fine. It is not their job. My job is to listen to ME to my SOUL. THAT set me free more and more. I wish you all the best! Trust YOURSELF......trust your soul. She is always loving....giving.....in compassion and so much more🥰she is already with you...just look in her direction.....she is your LIGHTHOUSE. I was so optimistic two months ago, I don't even recognise myself in this comment anymore. I wish I would still embody the wisdom I shared here that time. And it has just been two months since then... After 27 long years, I finally stood up to psychological abuse since it happened during the funeral of my grandfather last week. The reward for doing so, was more psychological abuse. I had to go to the police for protection, and they rejected my desperate cry for help beforehand without listening first. I feel numb, I can't even cry anymore... All I want is to be helped, even saved, but I have a hard time accepting a helping hand, because of the fear there will be a catch...

Jimmy, I understand you absolutely. I finally cut off my family, but that was just the beginning. The first time I went shopping and bought something for myself I felt guilty, looking around to see who was watching. Do not wish to be helped or saved. I was like that all my life, and now that I am gaining a sense of self I am not looking for a magic rescuer, and that's when you know you are on the right track. Evil people are always on the lookout for people looking for help. That being said, I found one of the hardest things to do is to accept and embrace and DEAL WITH fears. I used to repress them, almost physically, so as not to dwell and that didn't help in the long run. Best wishes to you :)

If a person says "you won't see it grow". It is an example of someone who cannot see beyond their own horizon... it's not whether or not you'll see anything come to fruition...it's the knowledge that someone else will enjoy your efforts, your love and the caring you feel for the next generation....we have enjoyed all the efforts of others before ourselves.,..those people knew they were only here as a temporary home and yet they gave back just as we must joyfully do...here's to a great year of doing what we can and working within our own realm and making sure our children feel this is a good and loving world that belongs to us all....love to you and your family...keep the faith

I decided to learn what lessons I could from the experience, to be strong for my family's sake, to let myself shed tears when I felt overwhelmed, and to summon up courage when I felt nervous or afraid. I felt and feel the same thing that this lady said, I got emotional and cried listening to her, because every day I laugh, and I seem to be fine, but I'm still grieving and honestly I don't feel well, but almost all the people who ask me how I'm doing , I say, I'm fine. But the reality is that I need understanding, words, or silences, but not live as if everything continues the same as before, because it is not like that, since it is very recent. Societies evolved and remained civilized thru listening to the wisdom of their elders. What we did for thousands of years. These videos are so important in giving a voice to the now voiceless elders, devoid of elders roundhouses,. . A world where people just entering into their adult life can spew out whatever dribble pops in their experience-less heads and they actually manage to "influence" people with this... It really is concerning. (I am a young person who knows she knows nothing...so maybe this is dribble too)

It's a great privilege to be able to plant trees on your own piece of earth and go on to spend your lifetime there watching them grow. Not many people are in that situation these days. Depending on what country you live in, where you grew up, what kind of occupation you have or had and your parents'occupations, partners etc. cost of living in your area, rates, land taxes, environmental conditions like fires and droughts. Hi, Renaissance team, haha, yes: why must we always be polite? We don’t want to bother someone with our problems, I guess, knowing they’ve their own ones. But how can we learn to deal with all without sharing and learning from each other? The older I grew, the more I saw the signs of people who REALLY want to know or to share. Beautiful, how Elrieda doesn’t care about seeing the results of her plantings, because that’s NEVER under our control. But PLANTING is. It is said that the famous author GOETHE went out for walks with pockets full of seeds and spread them everywhere... our wild garden is so full of seeds, that we do the same and I recognise the flowers and herbs around us, some grow, some don’t . We have so much to share, not only with people, also with nature around us. Great to meet Elrieda and lovely, how your filming was underlining her words. Love, Monika❣️

We are all control freaks. Some of us are only wanting to feel in control of our OWN lives, though.

It's just so incredible and amazing as always that I learn from this channel. And the lady is awesome. As a survivor of covid-19, I felt lost and struggling a lot. My mental health is breakdown. And now I learn to keep my mental health to be better and watching this makes me cry suddenly without I'm realising it. And I feel better. Thank you for amazing work you've done.

I think I am almost always fine. Having a dog makes most days fine. My last one died in my arms about five years ago. He was fifteen. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be. My recent one is a 3 year old chocolate/ sable American Cocker Spaniel and I think he shall probably outlive me. At any rate, he is probably my last dog. Dogs are wonderful companions. I always get a warm feeling when I see people with canine companions.

Hi John, you sound just like us. We chose not to have children but have 7 rescue fur "children" - four dogs and three cats. Any they really make our world a better place. Especially in the times we living through - they teach us about unconditional love. You might like this film we did about dogs - kzread.info/dash/bejne/do123LCyhsucaZs.html Best wishes, Michael and Justine

If someone would have told me moving & letting go would bring my joy back I’d have laughed. But that exactly what happened! recently we moved to a tiny A frame house on a lake Minnesota. We left the city and sold our family home. I had to let go of 70% of what I owned to fit into my new house. Wow was that hard yet freeing!! Letting go freed up my time & space to enjoy life. Clutter was gone. Which helped my mood & mindset. It was in the quiet of the trees in the forest I could finally hear myself think. It was there I felt protected and safe to dream. Dream for myself. I spent endless hours walk & hiking and I stopped counting my damn steps! 😆 I saw such beauty in the differently types of moss, ferns and birds. Happy to say that I am a recovering couch potato! So, I needed to get my balance back. I got out my old kayaking & bought a stand up paddle board. I fell more than I stood at first. Now I’m not bad. I found Just being near the water brought me such peace. Then the strangest thing happened. I began to WANT to wake up in the morning! This was huge! Because I dreaded mornings & was depressed a lot of my life. It was Under the stars and northern lights I realized how beautiful MY life could be. Gratitude welled up. I got rid of more than just my possessions when we moved. I left depression & anxiety. It turns out a quiet life & simple life was what was what my soul needed all along. It ONLY took me 51 years to find my inner peace & happiness. 😆🤷‍♀️ but I am So glad I found my way even it it’s taken a while. I just love these short films and they’ve brought so much joy to me. I feel a kindred spirit in these stories and the people in them.
