I had a Frito Lay route in South Philly for almost 12 years. I worked there from 1986-98. The job is harder than it looks, but back then it paid really well. I enjoyed it but but quit at age 40 because running a route in the inner city got to be dangerous, difficult work.

@@Michaelprep I quit in April 1998, and by that summer the guys were telling me I got out at the right time. Things really went downhill fast from there. Examples, cutting (and eventually eliminating) commissions, mandatory Saturday deliveries, and reduction of benefits. Nice for me, at age 58 (I'm 63 now) they offered me a modest pension of $160 a month after taxes, I took it. The pension at age 65 would have only been $312. They will pay me a (tiny amount, I know) monthly until I die, or they run themselves out of business or money first. LOL PS I still own a lot of PEPSICO stock which is doing very well!

Following day she get a email basically turning het away saying other ppl qualify. Now she has experience as a courier driver that has pick up and drop of deliveries in many areas and store manger orders inventory and stock shelves to planogram displaying neatly to attract customers eyes for sale of merchandise, inventory, budgeting, data entry and stocking daily. Which both meets the needs of her being a valuable employee at Frito Lay. I told her their recruiters aren't fully reading nor did they notice her job experience intertwine with the position she applied for. I mean pass the application on to the hiring manager and let ppl interview. Geeze! They need better recruiters.

@micheal prepetit, man I hope you got out of that company, I was there for 8 years and I didn’t get shit out of it, I was making $80k a year but lost out on my life, education, family time, the 401k there isn’t anything nor is the pension and you can guarantee that your replaceable, find a real career that has real benefits, retirement, time off and home/work life balance......

@@billygoat651 yeah I didn’t see this comment till now because I was checking my email but yeah I invested it in my education, I bought 5 acres of land and built a cabin myself south of pagosa springs, I mean it was good money but if you really think about it, it wasn’t worth all the BS the company puts you through year after year especially knowing you can’t get promoted unless you had a degree so as an RSR, you are stuck in that until you get a degree and then move up or just leave....

@@Michaelprep that’s good that your keeping a positive attitude about it, but for me leaving was the best thing that can happen to you in a corporation like that, at the time especially the first year it seems alright but then year after year especially bidding for time off just sucks, so me after 7 years with only three weeks of vacation time, I won salesmen of the year back to back but they didn’t honor the extra week pay so that’s when I started looking and I left to work for Department of health and finished my degree and making the same amount of money as I was but with a fraction of the “labor” time with normal 8-5 hours with a lunch and holidays and weekends off, at the time I recruited my friend to frito and she always had wanted to be a First responder but I told her that frito will make more money, she did it for 6 years as an rsr and got screwed over on transferring bins so she left and now she’s a paramedic. Long story short, when you leave frito, it’s for the best for your own well being unless your higher management like HR or something since those guys literally last 20 years and retire..... 😂😂
