Life is your talents discovered | Sir Ken Robinson | TEDxLiverpool
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this terrific and witty closing of TEDxLiverpool, Sir Ken Robinson argues that talent is often buried and that we need to search for it. In fact, the foundation of wisdom may be the willingness to go and look for it..
Sir Ken Robinson originally from Liverpool now lives in Los Angeles with his family.
Sir Ken is a TED icon having given three presentations on the role of creativity in education (His 2006 talk has attracted over 27 million views and seen by an estimated 250 million people worldwide) and changed the lives of many.
In 2011 he was listed as “one of the world’s elite thinkers on creativity and innovation” by Fast Company magazine, and was ranked among the Thinkers50 list of the world’s top business thought leaders.
Sir Ken comes from an arts in education background influencing the formulation of the National Curriculum in England. For twelve years, he was professor of education at the University of Warwick, and is now professor emeritus. He has received honorary degrees and honours for his services to the arts and education from many institutions around the world.
Sir Ken is a best selling author and co-author of a wide range of books, reports and articles on creativity, the arts, education and cultural development.
In 2003, he received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the arts.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I didn’t realize Sir Ken Robinson passed away back in 2020. Such a shame. I’ve always loved going back and listening to his talks on KZread. He has so many good points. Even many of my “therapists” tried telling me I needed to “grow up” and “go through the motions” of job, marriage, kids, work, sleep, work, sleep, weekend, work, sleep, retire. They actively tried to talk me out of my passions I’m so much happier now that I’ve found passion in life. Without passion, what’s the point?
Some people just deserve to be cloned strictly for the sake of humanity... Sir Ken Robinson is one of the few on that list. Incredible talk and one hell of a trailblazer for quality education.

Yes. That stood out for me too.
What a wonderful guy. I would hope his talks are played as a foundation to teacher-training, not to mention newly-elected ministers of education.
Its always thoroughly enjoyable listening to Ken Robinson speak. An insightful mixture of humour and intellect always makes me smile.
"Nothing is so powerful as an idea whose time has come."
The most influential idea that I got in the whole speech is "It is completely fine if You don't know anything even if you are considered a genius because Life is all about learning from curiosity and curiosity comes from unknowingness."
Honestly, any talk by Sir Ken Robinson is a foundation wisdom. Ponder on his words.Sweeter as we listen to and try to understand him again and again repeatedly. All his talks are serious facts but full of anecdotes, humour constantly spurting with brilliance of human intellect. He is a source of inspirational speaker for several more young generations to come.May we listen to him for several more of his talks to come.He has the natural ability to inspire others to notice synergies in themselves. That"s what he is! Any one who listens to his talks is lucky to brush with thinking hat. May GOD bless Sir KR. Achuthan Madhav
I like how they didn't even start his timer. It's locked at 10 minutes the whole talk. As if either to say, "Yeah, you know the drill" or "Take as long as you want".

Jereth Khan because he is joking most of the time with jokes all British people laughed at, and because he is a Sir, politely they let him talk for ever.
Amazing Ted Talk again, I could listen to Ken Robinson all day every day.

Elizabeth Toner ,
Many thanks, Ken for this great talk. I'm learning english listening and watching documentaries and sometimes is difficult to me can understand british accent without subs. You show a lot of wisdom in your talk, taking special attention about making mistakes and accepting them for to learn and to make progress. British and american took the inheritance from ancient wisdom. Salutes.
I Love this man, my goal i to be as wise as him if not wiser.

Industrial revolution notion of 'modern education' really is an "Education In Reverse" Knowledge is a life journey.
Ken please do a UK speaking tour I'd love to see you in person :D

Anyone who ever achieved anything in life was prepared to be wrong and make a mistake and try it .
Thank you for a great presentation! Your presentation gave me an initial understanding of music teaching and your presentation was very clearly structured. The content of your PPT text was very visual helping me to understand your presentation quickly. The content of your speech was clear, and the presentation was listed very clearly and showed the ideas you wanted to express very well. Overall, it was a very good academic presentation.
To be born at all is a miracle.
Each time I listen to this man I learn something different....that makes so much sense....and I laugh along the way. Can't get better than that.
As always so interesting; funny; witty and great information 👏👏👏👏👏
The chances of you being born are incredibly minuscule. Ken really understates this.

If the oppinonated masses, view college / school system as a necessity, where the desire to force feed learning. NO way you can succeed without courage and charisma.
the dog joke always make me laugh god everytime he just changes what the dogs does when hes depressed and i laugh as if i never heard that joke before , purely amazing
If people in this life didnt have serious depression and struggle with things that deeply bother them, then i honestly believe they could achieve almost anything because their minds would be focused and not in turmoil. There's a big folder on my channel about Depression titled 'understanding depression. Its in the Playlist part of my channel titled 'Understanding depression' hope they are useful to people?

If you have the courage to touch life for the first time, you will never know what hit you. Everything man has thought, felt and experienced is gone, and nothing is put in its place.
Love Ken and love that lounge, is it 1960's?
thank you. RIP Sir Ken Robinson.
I love this guy, absolutely love him, but i find the fact that all intelligent british people seem to talk on a metronome set at 120 bpm a bit strange.

"Nothing is so influential as a life well lived" (at the end of the talk) - Here, "well lived" needs some precisions, even if it seems obvious at first sight. A "not well lived life" can also have tremendeous impact on others (and not necesseraly a negative one). So, can somebody develop the meaning of his sentence in context?

amazing man and brilliant talk
I love his sense of hummer
He sounds just like the legend Rowan Atkinson.
why most of ted talks videos sound so low

Talent or gift..all people have both.
I agree largely with Sir Ken but being famous and accepted by the world does not mean 100 % talent. Marketing plays a huge role.

That was just kind of a little rant--not very focused on the topic the title implies.
People are so often dismissive of good leaders and even people who are willing today "I don't know." How many presidential candidates will say that before they come up with some BS remark that only fools a small percent of those listening? Well, those are the ones who get voted in aren't they? Too shame. We should appreciate those who are willing to discover what they don't know instead of rest on their assurance that they can fool people into thinking they do know, or worse, actually thinking they do know something when they don't" It is often a wise person who knows what he doesn't know.
Quote: " - To be born at all is a miracle." Would he mind to be put to the test if someone asked him if a he also considers the ugliest catfish to be a miracle? And if he says YES then we would demand him to kiss the miracle as a sign of good will.
Just as Buddhists believe in reincarnation, the world needs a reincarnation of Ken Robinson ASAP.
I'm the shittiest miracle ever, that must count for something, right?
What exactly is the essence of this video? I honestly didn't get the message.

I am sorry to say but you are wrong about dogs, or in particular my dog, Marmite. He is a sensitive soul and often reacts to the call for walkies with a roll of the eyes. Other human behaviours include saying hello to friends who visit. He is also a gentleman, letting others walk through doors ahead of him. He is a Rotweiller X who really considers himself more man than dog. I can provide witnesses and evidence...

Wow 666k views illuminati confirmed jk lol. Nice talk i enjoyed watching it and learned a lot
Sound not good.
I would like to read his book rather than listen to him, because he jokes toooooooo much and that’s annoy me. I want to learn something useful, but he jokes every few minutes.
He needs to stop with the jokes and just focus on the subject, they're getting old.
