I read Greenlights and it was good! Definitely not for everyone but wholly unapologetic and honest, which I appreciate! Its too bad it was released in the politically charged Covid ridden year of 2020. I would really like to read the ending which Matthew would have written had it been a 2016 sort of year. I imagine it not being an ending but a challenge for a new beginning not only for himself but the person reading. Something more WET SHIT than the dry shit of pacifying feelings. Though I get there's great good in being thoughtful. Maybe in the second edition he can add another chapter?

If you're in it for the Long haul, treat investing like buying Gas. Buy only the good stuff. Buy regularly despite the price. And know over time it's sure to go up. >>smiles

I am 61 years old and, it's only recently, that I can say I am definitely my own hero. I could be a better person, of course. But I'm a survivor and I love myself and I respect all I've been through and how I've come out better for it on the proverbial other side. Give yourself time and always look for the good in yourself.

Success to me is realizing your own true potential and be happy in your own element. I could care less if people miss or remember me, I won't be around to "enjoy" that attention anyway.

I sit here. Listening whilst ive never met my two year old child Currently going through family court. I will be my hero for myself and for my son. I will never give in. Life is not fair and never will be. Very very true. Keep strong fellow people and never doubt yourself. You can. You will. You must.

I've listened to Matthew say this 3 times now. He knows how to enjoy life and is a great motivational speaker too.

Im hitting the gym everyday before work. Im meditating during the day on positive energy and before bed the best I can. Im working everyday and striving to make ends meet. Im listening to positive affirmations because im weakened by my flesh. Im making a push to be the best version of myself. Honestly I dont think ive accomplished much but i can still sleep with some peace of mind. Push yourself and then you'll realize you just reached the bottom of a greater mountain. Life is about ? Well maybe I'll find the answer one day and maybe you will also. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Life will always seem hard when we hinge our happiness on the others.It's hard to be happy when you've based your entire existence around the presence of someone else in your life. Or on their overall happiness. Even worse, when that person makes your life more difficult, it's hard to keep your sanity.

I resonated with what he said about taking away all the things in your life that you don’t like, and you’ll accidentally find what it is that you want in life. During the quarantine that’s exactly what happened. I hated not distracting myself by going out to eat, or go with friends, or to the movies. I was stuck at home with my thoughts and I was angry at myself for not doing anything all day. Slowly I started to narrow down what I wanted to do with my life, and since then my life has changed. My mentality is at rest now that I know what I want to go after. I’m no longer stuck chasing the American dream my parents told me I should want. I’m doing what I want and spending time every day to go after it. The work won’t pay off any time soon but I know it’s the consistency that makes a difference! Find your something!!

i would make the shirt say "acknowledge fear" because no fear isn't true, we all have fear, but alot of us act in fear, because we refuse to acknowledge we are fearful

How can you be your own hero when you are chronically ill and alone? I spent my entire life working, volunteering and being everyone else's 'help' in their time of need; now that I am sick (as a result of medical malpractice) those I always helped have disappeared from my life. If I had a chance to get back on my feet, maybe I could live out my retirement being useful instead of suffering. There are times when people are in hopeless situations (through no fault of their own) and they need a 'hero.' The fact is, as an older single female, I seem to mean nothing to society (despite all the good I accomplished during my younger years.)

I have never idolized famous or prosperous people. They are human not someone I have never met that I go crazy over seeing or hearing.
