Life is like a chewing gum: composer brothers Kalyanji - Anandji
Archival footage of an exclusive interview with duo Indian composer Kalyanji-Anandji of Gujarat. In the latter part of the interview, the duo brother was asked about husband and wife jokes. " Life, in a nutshell, is like a chewing gum, it's sweet in the beginning but it loses the sweetness as you keep chewing, yet you keep chewing" (laughs). No doubt they have good sense of humour!! Good partners.
Known as potboilers in the 1970s, Kalyanji-Anandji was best known for works like Don, Bairaag, Saraswatichandra, Qurbani, Tridev, and Safar. They also won the 1975 Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for Kora Kagaz.
The interviewer rightly asked about clashes of opinions when two music directors come together. It's amusing how Anandji turns to Kalyanji to respond the question. Two brains work even better for these duet singers. KA's were known for finest songs from the 60s and 70s.

They created music for three generations, surprisingly all the three generations liked it, still people are remembering their songs.
I feel so proud India has produced such talented music composers, lyrics and singers for the Bollywood Film industry !!

The legendary Music Directors whom I have respected and followed since a long time. Their immortal tunes are many, starting from Scratch Chandragupta, Bedard zamana kya Jane, Dil bhi tera humbhi,Chhaliya, Dulha Dulhan, Bluffmaster, P o box 999, Himalay ki god mein, Jab jab phul khilay, Haseena man jayegi, Upkar, purab pashchim, Johny Mera kaam, Mahal, Gopi, Sacha jutha, Zanjeer, Suhag, and many more. Om Shanti for Kalyanjibhai and Namaskar for Anandji bhai.

The Beauty of the music of Kalyanji-Anandji is both their songs and the background score. Melodious songs and a scintillating background score. When you left the cinema hall, both stayed with you. To this day one can hum the songs along with the background score of scores of their films - 'Don', 'Johnny Mera Naam', 'Haath ki Safai', 'Apradh', 'Dharmatma', 'Qurbani', 'Ek se badhkar Ek', 'Victoria no 203' , 'Hera Pheri' , 'Mahal' and many many more.... Miss them hugely .

That's been my pet peeve with most of these videos. TERRIBLE anchors (with no knowledge of either cinema or music or sophistication) interviewing legends! Their questions are almost cringeworthy at times. But we watch because of the spectacular people being interviewed, thinking how much better this would be with a knowledgeable interviewer.
Such intellectual people..such high level of thoughts.. truly legendary people...!!

Creative work eventually loses its lustre when it becomes like chewing gum.. But it is also right, person has limitation to see current and future expectations of audiences based on their willingness to change the taste with time.. In contemporary world, Kalyaan ji definitely contributed a lot.

That song was famous due to clavilion played by Kalyanji and that was 1st time played in Indian music not because of harmonium with due respect to Ravi sahab. When something becomes hit then everyone starts taking credit for it
