It sounds like the post-credits music to a really sad ending. Such a wonderful piece of art.
Sounds like a guy who's just had a rough time in his life currently and is hoping a good, long, aimless drive can chase his blues away! I hope he finds his peace doing what he loves!
When you're taking that annual road trip after losing your long time road companion...because that's what they would have wanted.
That discordant chord in the chorus hits so damn hard
Life is a highway... I wanna ride it off the road.
I find this version much better than the original.. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Honestly the original version depresses me uncontrollably and I don't know why. This was great! I would love to hear it grunge!
The original song was big in my 90s Canadian childhood. Loved this sad cover! I put the Tom Cochrane version in driving playlists, and this version would be perfect for a nighttime driving playlist.

The Tom Cochrane original was really big in the US, too. I clearly remember the song from when it came out, when I was in high school. Great song! Have you heard the Chris LeDoux version? I like that one as much (but not more than) the original. I'm not so fond of the Rascal Flatts version, though -- I don't hate it, I just don't care about it.

I just learned about the cars version recently from RoomieOfficial. Original all the way
Jesus...I can't even put my reaction into words this rendition is that great
My wife: "The boys aren't breaking up right?! RIGHT!!!?" I think you hit that perfectly.

I never saw "Life is a highway" as a happy song. The lyrics and sad music fit perfectly!
Your genius arrangements never cease to astonish me. The talent you have for purposely turning something nonsensical into a work of seamless cohesion is limitless. . . Another flawless arrangement!
Didn't expect this to be beautiful, I feel like it works so well???
On my first listen, the first chorus (that combination of gentle vocals and intense bass) made me laugh inadvertently, the kind of laugh that can happen in a very solemn place when your emotional wires get crossed. The texture, the movement, it's all compelling and beautiful and very effective! And that was, strangely, quite a validating outro. 😂🐊
didn't expected this song turning out so good thank for demonstrating once again how good lyrics can cross musical style thank you for revisiting a song from my youth
I adore these sort of tone-bending covers.
This will definitely be in a movie!
Still waiting for Nine Inch Nails "Hurt" but its too happy cover
Life is a highway, but with this song it's highway during rain. Nice cover, rest well during break!
Грустно видить так мало просмотров. У ваших кавер много музыкального. Ваши видео всегда интересны и с нотками драматургии. Все это в целом достают до самых глубин души. Спасибо вам замечательные люди и прекрасные музыканты.
It's insane how well this works. You guys are amazing! Definitely gave me sad vibes. But in a good way!
Superb. I just discovered you.. Amazing beautiful and moving work! Thank you
This sounds like it should be a bonus track on Opeth's Damnation album
its funny how sad it sound now but I'm still getting hyped up lol
It's been a hot minute since I've listened to y'all and I've been MISSING OUT
Goosebumps on soul!🥰🥰🥰
You guys need to take every "feel good" song ever written & cover them. Bet you improve them all! 👍👍
Strings dropping in in verse 2; genius!
A finely crafted gem, I especially like the mood in this one.
This is excellent, and especially the chorus I think is one of the most beautiful choruses I've ever heard you do. That scare chord is super-effective, though.
I know it is a cover but the original was written by Canadian Tom Cochrane in 1991. Rascal Flats used it for the movie Cars released in 2006.

They put it in the video info. They just put the other in the title because, currently, it'll probably be more recognizable to more people and attract more views. Sad, but fair.
Enjoy summer, and get well soon.
I hope Joe's eye gets better soon! Have a great summer bros!
That was a very well done cover guys.
Not me, crying in the club (at work), 😂😭 damn.
Thank you for allowing it to be OK to turn into a crocodile. I really tried not to.... (Do you know how hard it is to type this with crocodile claws?)
Got a nice Opeth feel to it. Love it!!
This is beautiful and sad, but I'm getting a little bit of a dark and menacing atmosphere from it, too...... I like it.

Micheal and Holly realizing they can't keep their relationship going ;(
Damn it, Dave! You made me cry!
Cool music and cool voice made a really cool song!

RASCAL FLATTS fucked up first by leaving out the harmonica and a cover should never end on a fadeout. I'm sure Cochrane did it live at enough concerts to give RF an idea how to close it properly. Again, a cover should not end on a fadeout.
Kinda sounds like a Poets Of The Fall song, like this
Still happy
Life is a highway, and there is no exit, and you don't know where you are going
Beautiful but dark version of this song.
Life hasn't been the same since Mater got scrapped
Thanks Guys!
Everybody ask where´s McQueen?, but nobody wonder How´s McQueen?
love the creepy grunge to emo vibes
Mysteriously, I love it even more than the originals!
Bellissima. Bravi!
How about a Within Temptation or Evanescence cover next?
Sounds pretty good on 1.25x speed too!
Very nice
Don't you mean Tom Cochrane, who wrote "Life is a Highway"? Tom Cochrane's version is the famous version up in Canada. I didn't even know it was ever covered by anyone else.

Micheal Scott’s song after the break up on the highway.
Wait, Joe has an eye patch!? Now I'm worried! 😰
When did Evanescence enter the picture?!
POV: you used to drive many places by car with your best friend and enjoy this to the extreme, but your best friend recently died in a car crash, and also you realized that driving that much emits CO2 and contributes to climate change

I hadn't seen the Family Guy clip before. That's… hilarious and sad at the same time. Yeah, that's even sadder than this Melodicka Bros version! But it's not the full song, so the Bros have that going for them. I'm glad they did it.
