YES! Your point about "other alternatives" is so important. I've had to put people I love deeply at arms length because they're in "the Program" and all they can see is me following on their footsteps or drinking myself to death. There were just too many lies they wanted me to tell to "qualify" for help.
Thanks for that, I want to try smart recovery. 12 step programs in my area are not quite right for me
I am also tired of the 12 steps and some implantations. I would like to attend zoom meetings of Smart Recovery
