initially, in a private set up, you can expect around 15-18 regular patients per day excluding counselling sessions. for a well established practice, the figure is around 50-60 per day.

@@drshivamupadhyay4328 boss agar psychiatry me patient by chance nhi mila....toh job opportunity bht low hai na...!!!!...... Kyunki as a economic prospect mujhe PG karke MBBS se jyada hi kamana chaiye na! Yeh kya sure hai 10-15 mil Jayega! Beacuse i am not come from a financially stable background

doesn't matter from which college you do it, but try to do it from a college which has a variety of patients

@@ajithadityaat1090 nothing to help.. Just fill the choices. I think you can get it.. In JIPMER you will need tamil.. Pts dnt speak much english.. But I am non tamil, some how managing.. Best of luck dude

@@ajithadityaat1090 yeah theres that. Language issue... If you are planning to practice in TN only then Jipmer would be better for you, what do u think? On a side note: if you are coming to JIPMER than you are my interpreter for rest of my PG life... Hahahah

With a private practice of my own, i can certainly say that i neither face satisfaction issues or financial issues

it can be considered as an end branch as you can deal with all types of patients but if you want to, you can consider super speciality in adolescent or geriatric or addiction based psychiatry

I am passionate about psychiatry and emergency medicine both. Is there a way or a job where i can enjoy mainly the emergencies in the psychiatry ?

Sir.. Dont psychiatrists face problem in managing own mental status while dealing patients?

Without doing mbbs deciding u want to be psychiatrist is not a good idea, u never know how is that branch ,once u experience about branch u can take decision

@@mrudulamvk its good The best thing is I get to go back to my family after 5:00pm and regarding evening practice is a choice. In a long run more than anything one desires is a work life balance. I have seen my fellow colleagues in emergency branches although have made huge money but their personal lives , relationships with partner, kids and families are bad. One may earn little less( you can still earn of you have evening practice😅) but that satisfaction is beautiful ♥️ Just remember MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING in a long run
