    This is hands down the best channel for rebuilding/restoring old motorcycles using new motors. I need to check, but knowing how to wire up the brake light (for braking - not just running brake light) would also be very useful.

I did not wire exactly as you but nearly, i did take everything from the regulator (red wire) didn't split the yellow.. i have tryed with several diffferent regulators but with no luck. another thing is that it seams like it comes AC out of the regulator also.

But, if you wanted to run your own wires, tap into the red wire and connect to flasher. From the other terminal on flasher, send wire to turn signal switch. Then, from switch out to signals.

    Can you hear the starter solenoid clicking, when you push the button? If you can get to the starter solenoid, check to make sure it’s getting 12v. If it is, jump across the two posts and starter should spin. You can also put 12v directly to the starter. If it doesn’t spin, the starter is bad.

    The green/red is the neutral indicator wire. If you don’t have a neutral light, you can ignore it. I’ve never seen a harness with a second blue/white wire. I’d leave it unplugged. The harness kill wires are typically green wire and a black/white wire. If you’re using a kill switch/button with two wires, it doesn’t matter which wire connects to which wire of the harness. The switch is just opening a connection between the green and black/white of harness. If your switch / button has one wire, that wire has to go to the black/white in harness.

    Difference between the half wave and the full wave rectifier ?

  • @MiniBikeMike

    @MiniBikeMike

    9 ай бұрын

    Google can probably explain it better than myself, but the half wave is just that….only half of the AC wave is converted to DC. The other half is sent to ground, if I’m not mistaken. It’s an inefficient system, but cheap. I believe the charging coil is split between 5 windings, 3 are output thru the yellow wire, which is intended to power the headlight. The other two are sent to battery. I believe a full wave system sends all AC power from both sides of the wave to the battery and all electrics are run thru the battery. If I have all this incorrect, I apologize.
