Fun fact, the people that made top hats were commonly called mad hatters because they would inadvertently consume or come into contact with mercury, which was found in the felt they used and this would drive them insane.

Spoilers for lies of P If you played the game you know that puppets are actually human beings, with their “souls” essentially put into the puppets in the form of ergo, also being the energy source that powers them. So you were a little off at 6:07, when geppetto asks if nameless puppet was gonna destroy the heart it was bc that heart essentially contained Carlo’s soul along with all the ergo he’d collected throughout the game that would let him become a “real boy”. Also, while it’s obviously assumed that the protagonist is Pinocchio based on the title, P in Lies of P refers to Paracelsus who lies to us the whole game about his motives and is teased to be the next villain

@@Noaimassist33 Learn Isshin's basic swordplay--he paces his swings deliberately, he's slower than Emma so you have to get those deflections right. Be ready for that three-hit combo and that little walk-evasion he does. When he sheathes his sword, back off and run to circle behind him and get a couple hits in. Same deal for the fire wave attack. Alternatively, if you've got the emblems, firecracker him with the Long Spark and punish. Try to get his health down as you can but once he's mid-health bar, try worrying about his posture to build it up. Pop an attack candy if you have to, but don't get greedy for the kill--don't hit him more than twice before going back on defense. He likes to counter-attack so when he's not vulnerable pop him once so he can block it then start deflecting his counter-attacks to push his posture up. If you need, take a break for a couple days and come back to it fresh.

  • @bellystraw

A thing I feel like this game does even better than Fromsoft is how ever build feels really potent. I know there are basically only 3 builds but all of them feel worth it and strong, with some solid weapon variety and weapon placement so you can get your build going really early on. Though it hurts my soul that there's not a single elemental boss weapon for the advance builds. But elemental throwables and your legion arm become monstrous on advance builds so I definitely recommend trying an advance build.

This was my first souls like game and let me tell ya!! I died like an unbelievable amount of times on that first clown boss... like a dumb amount! That guy is in my nightmares and having to face him again toward the end was a slap in the face even though I wrecked him that second time pretty easily. After beating him the first time though I pretty much had the rest of the game down pat. I didn't really have much trouble until the swamp creature's second phase. For some reason I couldn't wrap my head around a couple of his moves and then the final with Geppetto's puppet second phase was brutal to me. I think my favorite fight was the lady in white as well! The music and dance was awesome! I didn't realize this game was on par with the souls games for difficulty. I was always worried that the souls games would be to much for me with the way everyone talks about them but this game was really fun and not too difficult to me after my ridiculous initial learning curve on that first boss. Now I'm looking forward to going back and trying other games of the genre!
