Lies, Deception, and ProJared - The Story of ProJared

ProJared has had a very typical rise, a heavy contrast to how his channel collapse in less than 48 in 2019, as fast as it happened it was forgotten and many are still unaware to the full extent of the chaos, in this video we will attempt to capture it all.

Stories like this is why I'm convinced the online drama scene is a kind of blood sport for modern times. At the very least, it plays to out baser instincts of wanting to see people engage in a very public confrontation that will likely not end well for at least one of them, if not all of them.

It's hardly limited to the internet. The internet just amplifies the noise and intensity of these kinds instincts toward cruelty humans can have. You see someone better off than you fall, some people get the urge to kick them while they're down, just because you've got an opening. It's definitely worse in the online space though. Here's the thing, that said, none of these online commentators are professional in any sense, they have no code of conduct to adhere to, no standard of behaviour. If punching down gets you those clicks and makes you money, they'll do it.

If Jared never had the dumb idea to open up a page for sharing nudes, nobody would've cared because the divorce stuff ultimately is none of anyone's business. The thing is though, Jared created this situation as much as anyone. He had a nude blog where he didn't age verify ANYONE. He trusted the honor system. But if you look at his content, it'd be impossible to think he doesn't have a good chunk of children fans who are easily influenced. He was always going to end up getting or sending nudes to a minor because of how he operated. He got incredibly lucky that the minors he DID get nudes from, lied to him. But there is a key element here, he DID get nudes from minors. Showing just how bad his age verification was. And if he didn't think he could age verify, he probably should not have put himself into that position at all. Jared is the reason everyone saw his cock, and Jared is the reason he was even in a position these accusations could be made against him. He isn't exactly innocent, he just isn't a predator. But his neglect is equally as dangerous, and I hope he learned a lesson from this. Because I can't bleach the sight of his cock from my brain.

I definitely think ProJared's story was a watershed moment in KZread drama. It was one of the first big examples of a KZreadr successfully recouping a significant amount of their credibility and social standing, as opposed to simply digging their own grave deeper. His online presence may be permanently diminished; and it's hard to say if that's due to regular burn out, or lingering stigma from the initial incident, or both; but I do feel like his tragic downfall was a major turning point that made people more critical, more skeptical, and more rational when it came to these kinds of controversies and accusations. Obviously, I wish it hadn't cost him so much, but there's a silver lining, and I think that's important.

This drama taught me a lot of lessons about public fallouts. Case in point: very different situation, but when all the shit regarding the DOOM Eternal OST went down and Marty Stratton released his statement, while the rest of thr Internet turned on Mick Gordon, I genuinely felt like there was a lot not being said. I kept faith in that and was vindicated when Mick released his statement 2 years later. Without this ProJared situation first, I probably would have turned on Mick like everyone one else did.

Here's the problem with Heidi's response. She lied at the beginning. She came out of the gate with malice and the intent of making Jared look as bad as possible with "TODAY I LEARNED MY EX-HUSBAND WAS FUCKING HOLLY BEHIND MY BACK" and then, after proof was shown of this not being true "Well, I did know about this, but I tried to make it work." You see, if she lied about that and she admited that, why should we believe anything she says? Jared and Holly put up proof of their side of the story, Heidi just has the value of her own word, and she already run it throw the mud with that first malicious lie.

Heidi - Still cosplaying, opened a shop somewhere, Cottagecore, Aries the Cat passed away, not much heard from her otherwise. Holly - Started a business, Twitter meltdowns, tried to make allegations against Ross, insinuated dirt on Game Grumps. Maybe got it the worst in the long term, borderline lolcow if you're into that phrasing. I lived this drama when it was out. Huge bits of the story were missed out in this video - and I wish I still had the 'receipts' from the time - were Heidi found Jared's old mobile phone and the nudes were primarily leaked from that device, as there were texts where she was blackmailing/threatening him with it. And that she assumably stumbled upon both Charlie's during this period. It's unsure how involved she was with the minor-soliciting scandal, but she was a part of it as she mentioned it first. When JTK says Heidi was quiet during an early period of the scandal...yes and no. She was quiet on her own Twitter, but she was active everywhere else spreading the narrative alongside the two Charlies AND on facebook (where she was the first to drop a post about the whole ordeal). And lastly, though there wasn't concrete evidence it was Heidi who wanted an open relationship just for herself originally. She forced Jared to do it later as he had issues with the arrangement, but he eventually benefitted from it emotionally connecting with someone as his wife was - and let's not kid ourselves - abusing him emotionally. That is known, what isn't clear is if she had a side boyfriend the entire time, but it was suspected a male consplayer she was seemingly at every event with from a certain point (prior to them opening their marriage for her) up until the scandal was the guy, as fans had come forward noticing them together and Jared's marriage was a hot topic in inner circles due to Heidi flaunting herself with another guy at conventions. Yeah, Heidi was a selfish abusive monster, and she only proved the point with her tirade for weeks after his clapback video. Girl wouldn't let it go, but it was noted she stopped saying specific things, so she probably got a stern letter from his lawyer to pack it in otherwise he'd seek legal action, which is something he alluded to but didn't want to take legal action and just call it quits.

All those people calling them names were rotten on the inside and in my book, that's way worse than looking like an average human being on the outside. And like you said, for all the body-shaming, it was a whole lot of people who probably shouldn't be throwing stones themselves (by their own standards). And don't get me started on that same community's silence on those who shared his nudes without permission.
