@@johnkatz1665 Rosie’s bar and grill. The kids were on a field trip to it. I should mention there were no customers at the restaurant when the kids went there. I should also mention it has lgbtq themes, but parents were sounding off because it’s a “gay bar” that their kids were taken to. She posted pictures of the menu but the menu she showed was an adult menu, various people who’ve been to the restaurant multiple times stated they brought their kids there and it’s family friendly. But if your looking for sources I’d just put in gay bar/Rosie’s bar and grill.

To some point I have to agree but I don't think the world and particularly people like Glenn are black/white. I still think a lot of his newer motivation has to do with the government stalking him and intimidating him and his husband, him being harassed and then at one point even being held at gunpoint in his own home....given his history exposing NSA continued involvement with leaks the US government they likely stalks him regularly and I'm not trying to excuse his actions but I can't put myself in those shoes and imagine how I would react to a system like the American security state if the brunt of it destroyed my life and was on top of me. He probably doesn't care given what he might be going through about any collateral damage. And for that I can understand. The American security state is a brutal dystopian system and once it has you in it's crosshairs anyone and everyone you know will be in its crosshairs. This is strongly documented.

I remember when i taught public school and there were signs on the wall about sexual orientation. It was encouraged to talk and discuss it in the classroom. We ALL had rainbow flags up all year round, and this was a grade school. These kids were well-adjusted and self-aware. I have a niece who recently came out. They are NOT bullied, but have lots of friends and are accepted.

Well to be fair you don't need to be an extremist to be a right winger. Also the state of the right really changed, atleast that's the feeling I get. Look at Texas, folks in their 20s have some conservative views while also being quite progressive on LGBTQ+ or PoC compared to the previous generations. Social medias must have helped break the loop of parent-children inheritance I guess. EDIT: I'm not saying they're right in their vote btw I'm just saying younger folks are more respectful in general so it doesn't surprise me to see "self-hate" in the right.

The anonymity of this account was very important for laundering right wing hate. Rather than citing a specific person, right wing media was able to just say " people online are saying..." But now that chaya raichik is named people know it is a specific hate monger and not a grass roots population.

They insist on bringing their own sexual preferences into the classroom. That’s disgusting. I had gay teachers growing up, and it’s only because I did the math, not because they felt the need to bring it up and push an agenda. I’m all for gay rights, but groomers can get the guillotine.

Cached versions of the WaPo article still have the link to Raichik's real estate license, but the only thing that can be considered "sensitive" information is the FORMER address of the real estate business that, if the information on the Licensee page is accurate, she shared with 20 other real estate agents. The place is a clothing store now called Jaf Threads and it took me all of 30 seconds on Google Maps to figure that out. There isn't even so much as a business phone number attached to the profile. Oh, there IS the factoid that her license expired a little over a year ago. Maybe that's what they're all freaking out about.

I thought you had just made a grammatical mistake before when you said "Her home address IS shared with an LLC", but now I'm really confused. Raichik lives in California. She's literally said as much when interviewed by the New York Post. Was that just a clever lie, or do you just not know what you're talking about? I'm honestly suspecting it's the latter, because the real estate office isn't even at that address anymore, and it hasn't been for at least 2 years if Google Street View is to be believed. So it's quite literally impossible for anyone from the real estate business to still be working at that location. And if it really was somehow a business/residential combo building like you claim, I don't see why the new business would let the old business's employees stay. Nevertheless, there's still the unfortunate little detail that I'm able to find the Licensee profile that the address is on with a quoted Google search of Raichik's name. And, assuming Lorenz HADN'T linked the profile, if you think that there wouldn't have been a sizable subsect of obsessive weirdos and curious looky-loos who'd've taken the 12 seconds to do the same once her name had been released, then clearly you don't know the internet. And even then, all they'd find is the address for what is now a clothing store!

Teachers in the US are prevented by the Establishment Clause from displaying religious symbols in class, so this would never come up.

Furthermore, the purpose of the Establishment Clause is that no one religious belief or opinion is given preferential treatment over any other. By banning any discussion of sexualities or gender identities other than straight or cisgender, this bill isn't an attempt to remain similarly impartial.

I think we need to have an honest conversation with eachother about what we want information to be like around us. Like the core issue here is that some people think content should be taken down if it's justified and some people don't. Maybe better said, people disagree on what is grounds for taking content down because some people think the content is wrong (factually or morally) but others are concerned that moral or factual items are being warped in order to justify taking down content that powerful people find threatening to their agendas. In my opinion, all subjectivity in censorship needs to be disregarded when considering taking down content; there's simply no way to police it without the potential for abuse. I think it would be much easier for people to have conversations about issues like this if the outcome didn't involve the content being removed depending on the result.

Science is a thing we call biology. I’m not debating a spectrum of masculinity or femininity. I’m saying science (biology) defines male and female. Whether or not you choose to be gay or transgender, is not the debate. It’s America and it’s identity of of being free to be and act and have a lifestyle that you choose. Not debating that. The issue is indoctrination. Doesn’t have to be in quotes , that’s what it is. It’s a parents right or the legal guardian to talk about these subjects to kids. It’s not the public school systems or any teacher that feels that they need to teach anything other than the curriculums that parents send their children to school for. For example, It’s not for the school or teacher to take upon themselves to indoctrinate the kids with any religion either… define what the role of a parent is for their child and what their teachers role is and you’ll have your answer. Kids with gay parents, transgender parents, straight parents. Education is what we send them to school for and entrust them into another persons care for . Not for any kind of personal beliefs that we may or may not agree with or live out

I mean, when you're posting publicly online as a supposed teacher or teaching staff member about how you are going to operate in a classroom and interact with parents, don't be surprised if people ask you questions about it. It's only natural. I don't really think it's appropriate for any teacher to send a letter home mentioning their relationship status and partner. That has nothing to do with their ability to their job. I feel teachers in general should keep their personal details and lives out of the classroom as much as possible. My teachers never did anything like this. Your job is to look out for the kids' best interests and to educate them on the core curriculum as best as you possibly can. Nothing else.

Let me first address the fact that so many people are saying this is a bill villifying the LGBT as a whole. This guy didn't even read the bill. It's short, it takes 10 minutes to read, and he is helping to assist misinformation. This is damaging to the LGBT. Stop it. Secondly, I am a gay parent. I do not think anyone has a right to discuss things of a sexual nature with my child. If someone wants to talk about sex with my child, they have problems, not solutions. We already have times when we approach children with similar topics of sex and sexuality. It's literally sexual education. And it's in middle school to high school. Teach children to read, write, and do math before tackling complex topics like gender identity.
