Liberty Memorial ablaze with animated poppies in dramatic WWI commemoration
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I on Nov. 11, 1918, a light installation, “Peace and Remembrance,” will be projected on the Liberty Memorial for nine nights, honoring the nine million soldiers who died in the war.

What kind of sick person disliked this
As a Kansas Citian living in Vermont, I can only wish I were home these days and back at the old Memorial that I have visited so often in the past. What a light show! My grandfather fought in the Great War.

A beautiful way to honor our Veterans . Thank You, Kansas City .♥ and Thank You, to all our Veterans .
I worked a fourteen hour shift at work on Sat. November 10th 2018, as I drove home I glanced over at the memorial all lit up in poppies and what a sight it was, suddenly my day didn't seem so long and chaotic when I stopped and reflected on all the servicemen that have fought and died protecting our freedoms, please take time today 11-11-2018 and honor the fallen!
I hope they do this again next year & every year. It is remarkable.
Was fortunate enough to see this in person. Very moving!
Wow, amazing!
I wish they would’ve showed the whole projection show it went too fast in time lapse for me to be able to read it all. I didn’t know that they had done this I live 20 minutes from the memorial and would loved to have seen it in person. The museum inside is great and if your ever near downtown Kansas City it’s worth a couple hours to really walk through
