Can't wait gonna be epic. Mvdp will need full team help to make it work but certainly could

MvdP can take a seat in the back of the UAE train, who will start pacing on top of the group until Pogačar decides to launch. That's the moment he should be ready. For bike changes, clothing, food&drinks, yes he needs his team mates. But in this race UAE will take their responsibility and do tactical what they almost always opt for. Thin out the peleton with a crushing pace and than rely on Pogačar to finish it off.

I live in The Netherlands and the weather...Well it was 4 C on monday midday. And the current forecast has been pretty consistent: snowfall in the morning in Bastogne is quite possible. It is in fact expected with -1 C and rising to 4 C. In Liege it is a lot milder (3 to 9 C). It will be mainly showery snowfall with 4 mm (not a lot) but with 2-4 C on the higher parts of the Ardennes it will testing. In 1980 we had 4-5 cm of snow and Hinault won by a huge margin. But what is may an indiction: real climbers did not end up in front. The larger, stronger guys did. And 60 people abandonned in the first hour among which Van Impe and Baroncchelli (climbers). Van der Poel is not a fan of rain and cold weather....which is rather atypical for Dutch cyclists I say. Personally I rode in snow in april as a kid because I thought that was heroic, so did some of my friends...And when I went to a hot shower I felt absolutely fantastic! So yes: it is easy watching from the couch but I have earned it, I have been there (for 65 km that is...). MvdP: I don't think he will win for various reasons but he said this in Dutch "this week I will go back to Spain to set the final accents on my form". I am 100% sure he used AGR for training and a win only if his tactics would work out. Liege BAstogne Liege is something else. He became what: 6 th after a very tough race one day prior. In fact belgian commentators said during that race he could have won it. So he is not without a chance.

Yep, he became 6th 2020. Just 14 seconds after Pogacar. When you look at the wins of Pogi of races of 250km or longer there are 4: he won 2 sprints, 1 with 16 seconds ahead and one with 38 seconds (with a little help from Leo 😉) So over 250km Pogi hasn't crushed anyone, he won but not with much difference. It's not a foregone conclusion that Pogi wins. He is the favourite for sure. But he hasn't won it already 😂 Like you said the weather can play a part to on Sunday. Let's hope for an exciting race without hard falls form the riders 👍🏻

Well...today we saw what that kind of weather does to especially small and lightweight climbers...Skjelmose suffered from it. Hypothermia. But that kind of weather is also still possible on Sunday. And it is not MvdP kind of weather. Even though he is Dutch he is one that cope well with cold. I wonder how Tadej does but it could be, if it is really like 2-5 C with some (snow)showers we get some real surprises like today in Fleche Wallonne.

Weather will likely indeed play a big factor just like at La Fleche Wallonne. This time though the riders will be significantly better prepared for it by their teams. Do worry that it might play with the heads of the riders that had a DNF in yesterday's race.

@@jaysimoes3705 Sorry Belgian here... 12 degrees celcius and dry weather are predicted for Sunday in the Ardennes... With a low chance of 30% to get any rain. Thus by far not the kind of weather we did have last Wednesday... Sorry mate but your weather prediction is lightyears off.

I guess that Healy is still recovering from covid or something else that we don't know of... I wonder why he was so crap at Tirreno and why he didn't race for a full month anymore after that ? I am just guessing of course, but I would not be surprised if this is the reason why we see Healy play domestic in races that suit him.

UAE is so strong right now. Unfortunately, it may be a boring race. Hopefully, some of the other teams work together to throw UAE off their game. There are other strong riders that can compete.... however, not the same volume of strong riders per team. Hoping for an exciting race and pulling for other riders to perform and knock UAE off. Also, we still haven't seen full startlist for all teams yet.

I’m predicting a Pogi attack from 40+km out. He will drop everyone over steep climb and then MVDP will chase on just over the top. The two of them go in break and we have an epic battle for the win!

You said that crashes wiped out the big names in the sport so Pog and MVDP are left as the best? Just to clarify - you think that Vingegaard, Roglic or Remco are better riders then Pogacar?! Wow.. Must be Danish? 😂
